A spacious, quiet campsite by the county town of Hertford that you can enjoy all year round.

Our Hertford Club campsite is on the outskirts of the attractive market town of the same name and surrounded by rolling countryside.

This campsite, although large is spacious with some 250 pitches, offers many quiet and secluded pitches and there are lots of separate areas to choose from. The site is well laid out with well- maintained facilities including washing machine and dryers, inside dish washing area, an outdoor play area and dog walk.

There is a separate tent area with a facility block close at hand. The whole site is plentifully supplied with trees, hedges and shrubs and there is an attractive lake too.

It’s an easy walk into Hertford with its town square and River Lea towpath walk. And Balls Park close by is excellent for dog-walks.

The Cole Green Way, part of the National Cycle Network, is about 1.5 miles from the campsite, starting at Hertford Football Club it follows a former railway to Welwyn Garden City. There are more recreational options at Hartham Common, just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre.

For days out there’s Paradise Wildlife Park, Knebworth House and Waltham Abbey or you can take a train to London from Hertford East which is a 20-minute walk from the campsite.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

Have been visiting this site for many years but very disappointed now with the state of the hardstandings and surrounding ground, with deep, waterlogged ruts. This made access to the van very messy, causing constant mud to be walked in. Given the recent price increases for "improving hardstandings" we feel that this site has seen no benefit, especially given the obvious water logging of the ground in general. In addition, access to the water/waste points needs to be improved in order to keep off the muddy grass. Regret we shall restrict future visits to this site to warmer, drier conditions.

This site has a country feel although it is within walking distance of the shops and pubs of Hertford. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The site is large but split into distinct areas. We will definitely return!

2 areas that this site needs improvement is the showers which could only be discribed as warm at best. The second area is the roadway between the two shower blocks, this needs re surfacing due to the amount of large pot holes. I appreciate It's winter but other sites I have been to recently were in top condition
