The site is steep but has level pitches.

This review is for Greenacres Camping & Caravanning

The site is steep but has level pitches. Although it is steep, it means that once pitched, the views are outstanding & you are surrounded by them! There is a very friendly pub at the entrance of the site. It has an Indian restaurant/take out attached. The food is lovely & extremely good value for money, highly recommend it! There is also a local store on the entrance of the site, so its handy for the little bits or top up supply's !

The site is on quite a slope! The owners have cut pitches into the hillside, which isn't a bad idea but some of them aren't all that level. 2WD vehicles may struggle to get up the site in wet conditions. The access road they've created could do with extending a bit I think. Luckily it was dry when we were there so we were able to get right to the top of field to enjoy the beautiful views toward the Forest. At the time of our visit they were in the process of building a new toilet & shower block, so the only on-site facilities was a portable site toilet. Great Indian food & friendly staff at the pub adjacent to the site. A little more work to do here I feel, has the potential to be a great little site! We enjoyed our stay here & would probably visit again in the future.

lovely owners very helpful , we were on top of the hill with fantastic views, needed to be pulled up there if have not got a 4 x 4, pub food good when open, easy to get to forest of dean Gloucester ross on wye, and on bus route, facility only a portaloo at the moment but are in process of building a new toilet block which will be worth it, however beware it will be down the hill and you have to get back up again if not good on the legs, cannot grumble at the fees , fields next to horses, and lovely walks from the site would visit again

Booked as a convenient pitstop on the map.

This review is for Greenacres Camping & Caravanning

Booked as a convenient pitstop on the map. Welcomed at the house but the steep field looks daunting. In fact each pitch has been carefully levelled (rather them than me) so once you drive up the field you'll have no issues getting flat. We had a tremendous amount of wind from the south west which meant wind breaks, jumpers and not sitting out too long. Elevated corner means a good view which although nice isn't a reason to visit. Facilities is just a breeze block toilet in the corner of the field, a water tap and the recycling bins. The toilet isn't the most fabulous but there are plans for a shower block "soon". The pub is under 100 yards from the site, the shop is over the road and sells most essentials including meat and veg so you don't need to shop before you arrive. Nice enough but we stayed the previous night somewhere with better facilities, a fabulous view and lower cost.
