    Top site for beaches

Explore the beauty of England's south coast from our campsite.

With cycling and walking trails in abundance, miles of sandy beaches, bustling towns, pretty chocolate box villages and a host of family attractions within a short distance our Chichester Club Campsite offers something for everyone.

Chichester is a small, welcoming campsite. Once an orchard it has a relaxing ambience and is an ideal setting for kicking back and relaxing after a hectic day exploring the area.

Head across the road on foot or two wheels to enjoy the paths to the coast and Chichester harbour. Or catch a bus from outside the site to Chichester (great for shopping), Bognor, Littlehampton and Brighton in one direction and Southampton and Portsmouth (with the Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Keys and the Historic Dockyard) in the other.

For a bucket and space day head to the Blue Flag beach at West Wittering where you’ll find sand dunes, sheltered waters and acres of space. East Head and Selsey too are great for lazy beach days.

Worth Noting

Electric security barriers in operation. Please note there is no parking for visitors and, because of the narrow entrance road, there are no overnight parking facilities.

Eat Local

Chichester hosts a farmers' market twice a month. Southbourne farm shop near to site sells a range of local products and the Tupenny Barn sells organic fruit and vegetables.

Why isn't this and other club sites open all year round, before we stayed here we had just spent a week at the Caravan Club site at Brighton(only site along coast open all year). If that's anything to go by, it was busy. Along the south coast, especially from Poole to Eastbourne, there are many places to visit & great shopping, but nowhere to stay. With so many ppl now Motorhoming & caravanning surely we need more sites open all year !! I'm sure other members would agree !

We enjoyed our stay. Good walking from the site.

We enjoyed our stay. Good walking from the site. As we live nearby we know the area which is very pleasant. We stayed at the end of the camping year. Actual site is old and tired. Facilities need an overhaul. No facility for servicing a motorhome. One main water tap plus a spare nearly the laundry. Could do with water tap and grey water disposal at top end of site. Site gets very wet, poor drainage. wardens were so helpful and knowledgable. Handy site for Chichester, Portsmouth and surrounding villages. Very good walking from site around Chichester Harbour. Pub almost next door though there are better pubs a short drive away and worth visiting. Caravan and camping shop a short walk down the road. Also excellent Farm Shop within a short walk.

We visit this site at least 3 times a year.

This review is for Chichester

We visit this site at least 3 times a year. It is well located for Chichester, coastal walks , bus routes and amenities. The pitches are small and the site a bit dated but always clean. In the past the wardens have done their best to allocate you to a pitch that best meets your needs and have been friendly and accommodating. Our last visit in November we found the wardens unfriendly, unhelpful and very jobsworth. Perhaps it had been a long hard season and it was the last weekend before the site closed. Most campers can overcome less than perfect facilities if the wardens are friendly and helpful.

We had read that the road noise could be intrusive but to be honest unless you were very fussy or a light sleeper it isnt an issue. The approach from the west means that it is easy to miss the turning, however if you take care after the station sign it is about 50 yrds past the Travellers Joy Pub on the left. We found that the footpath down to the creek was unsuitable for elderly or wheelchair users. This means that there isnt much in the way of local walks of interest for the aforementioned users. This isnt a criticism just something that needs to be considered. However, there are lots of pretty villages with waterfront quays in a short drive. The Travellers Joy did very nice food at sensible prices. The Butlers fish and chip shop supplied excellent food.Last thing to mention is the effort made by the site in keeping the facilities clean, only criticism is that the shower press tap only gives 8 to 10 seconds of hot water, possibly a bit mean? Overall no real reason not to give the site a try!
