Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

With over 90,000 acres of woodland and heath, free roaming horses and glorious varied scenery around Sway the site is an ideal base for walking, cycling and riding. Beautiful beaches and the quay at Lymington are only a short drive away. We are a family run farm site with a small herd of rare breed pedigree Saddleback pigs, cattle and English goats. We produce our own meat these and eggs from our free range chickens. This produce is available to our visitors. Guests are welcome to bring their dogs and horses by arrangement. The beautiful gently sloping site is well equipped with electric points, chemical disposal point, dish washing area, and a dog walking track. There are toilets, hot showers and washbasins available. We have one and two bedroom cottages on the farm for those who prefer a little more luxury during their stay.

Perfect site, Perfect location, very helpful when booking We were looking for a site in the new forest that would allow us to put a tent up next to our Motorhome for a few nights. that was close to local amenities but not too close and that had a hook up. This site hit the brief perfectly. the Train station is only a 3 min walk from the site and the track does run along side the site but it wasn't noisy at all. The Village was the same distance away where there was a great Village store and fantastic Butcher plus the Village Pub the white Hind was lovely with great food and a friendly atmosphere. Dog's are welcome but if your eating inside you need to get there early or book as Dog's can't sit anywhere and the tables are limited where they can go. We would definitely go there again. visited Bucklers Hard which I strongly recommend even for teenagers. wanted to go to Beaulieu but the price was too high @ 25 per adult and the Top Gear exhibition was closed but they didn't reduce the entrance fee! there loss.... Walks in the Forest are amazing and the Holmesley Station tea rooms were brilliant fantastic cakes!

Charming, friendly, very good location I stayed here a couple of times recently when visiting relatives in the area, but this could be a useful place to stay for anyone visiting the New Forest or coastal towns nearby. The facilities are somewhat quirky, this is true, but I'm in a small camper and need all the bits and bobs and found it fine for me. I have been on CS sites with one toilet in a grotty shed and nowhere to wash up. I think there was an outdoor washing up area here too. Yes there are trains! Having been warned about this, I still found the site to be strangely peaceful. It was small and seemed tucked away from the world, and the wildlife was great. More than once I looked into the trees below the railway bank to see deer looking back at me. The trains whoosh by and are gone. The deer didn't seem to mind, and I stopped noticing after a while. I personally find traffic noise far more intrusive as it is continuous, and there was none of that. The site is next to the station, good for day trips if you don't want to drive. Sway also has two pubs and useful shops within walking distance, and open country is also within walking distance of the site, even better if you bring bikes. Location wise this site couldn't be better, in my opinion, and I enjoyed staying here.

Small but noisy site with mostly clean but somehow outdated facilities.

Small but noisy site with mostly clean but somehow outdated facilities. We booked 3 nights with a caravan but left after 2 and I am a little bit disappointed by all those 5 star reviews. Have yo ever been to other places? The site is in fact noisy because of the train tracks that practically go through your caravan and are operated throughout the night. Maybe we were unlucky with our fellow campers but generally cars shouldn't be allowed to drive around until midnight. Same for loud music etc. The access is quite tricky when you meet with someone arrving/leaving as there is no space to evade for a pretty long distance. The facilities are somehow clean - yes, but look shabby and are weirdly arranged. Unisex toilets with dish washing facilities right next to them. I don't like to hear certain noises and smell certain stuff when washing my things, but maybe that's just me. You can wash your hands but nothing to dry them of off. Hughly disappointed, left after 2 nights in order to get some sleep and I would never go back there.
