A beautiful campsite location on the Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales.

Our Llanystumdwy Club campsite in North West Wales is located between mountains and sea in an area of natural beauty. Its position makes it ideal for exploring both the Lleyn Peninsula and Snowdonia National Park – both great walking areas.

Lovely views extend over the rolling countryside from the campsite which is bordered by tree and dry stone walls. The site boasts 70 pitches – many sloping – spread out over a large field. Facilities are clean tidy and include toilets, showers, a laundry and dog walk.

It’s a short walk to the village of Llanystumdwy. Here you’ll find a pub serving home-cooked food and a museum dedicated to Lloyd George who lived in the village until the age of 16.

Criccieth to the east of the campsite has a castle and plenty of independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. It also has a long esplanade along the seafront and a sandy beach. Further on Porthmadog is the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park. It’s also home to the Ffestiniog and Welsh High Railways. Jump on a train at either end of the town, enjoy the mountain scenery.

Caernarfon, Portmadog, Pwhelli and Port Merrion are all easily accessible by either bus, car or train from the campsite.

Worth Noting

Please note that the majority of pitches are sloping and chocks will be required. Club Service Pitches are only 10amp.

Sloping pitches Ok for our tents. Some caravan owners struggled.

Sloping pitches Ok for our tents. Some caravan owners struggled. However, as in tent we found site very noisy due to busy roads. Proved too noisy by the road which had relentless traffic throughout the day and night. Three adults and baby - lack of sleep spoilt holiday and we left after two nights.

Friendly helpful management team.

Friendly helpful management team. I was meet by the assistant managers who helped me set up and gave information on local area. They showed me the pitches available. Clean shower block toilets plenty of hot water. The site is sloping but hard standings are level and yes some work to level up on the grass pitches. I was nearly put off going due to comments about the sites sloping dangers as I'm new to caravanning but I will be visiting again. Some of the pitches do need work to remove the steepness and I am sure this would benefit the site if money was spent as I am sure it would increase site bookings .

We had a very enjoyable one week holiday, fortunately with good weather. Many attractions within one hours drive of site. A favourite for us was an excellent day out at the Welsh mountain zoo. However we were in a tent on a pitch that sloped to much. (We consider a reasonably level pitch to be a basic requirement for camping.) Also we were close to the very noisy main road at the bottom of the site. Most noticeable late evening until well after 10 pm. We will not come back to this site.
