We stayed at this site as we were walking up Snowdon during our stay with our 9 year old and 5 year old girls for charity with a group of 12 other people who were staying all over Snowdonia. We arrived at 7pm and were met by two very friendly members of staff, who were very helpful in giving us all of the information we required for the site. As we arrived on a Saturday evening, we were told it was very busy, but we could find a pitch and move the following morning if we wished to. The staff bake their own bread and cakes every morning and this is an excellent service, which we made the most of. We did our Snowdon challenge on the Wednesday and could not have picked a worse day for weather, but we did it. It was great having the West Highland Railway running past the site and as the site has its own station, we hitched a ride to Caernarfon. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to thank the staff for their wonderful hospitality. We will be returning in the future.

Beautiful site, friendly staff wonderful fellow campers all of whom seem to appreciate the great outdoors without modern technology. We chose plot 53 seemed nice sunny spot, unfortunately when rained water flowed from the road across the plot and flooded the awning, needs deeper draining channels to clear the water. Other plots seemed great just chose wrong one. The facilities are adequate and clean but shower pressure in both blocks was poor. Recycling skips need camoflaging ugly red and yellow units seem out of place. Grandchildren loved waving at the Welsh Highland Railway passing the site. Like a scene from the Railway Children. Shame proposals afoot to convert most of site to lodges, probably why no real money spent on infrastructure. Overall had a great time.

This review is for Beddgelert - Snowdonia

Extremely disappointing welcome on arrival, approached by a very unhelp member of staff who simply give us a map and told us to find our own pitch, site was already full and day light was fading fast. On all other previous sites that we have stayed on with the Camping and caravan club the staff couldnt have been more helpful, our pitch was already allocated and they would show us the way ( follow the man on the bike), explain the site layout, shower toilet block location, give us some local knowledge on good eateries . The only pitch left was on uneven ground full of stones making it nearly impossible to set up the tent, the site looked generally tired. Then there are the biting insects (Thousands of them), whilst I appreciate this isnt the fault of the site and is clearly down to nature, I think it would have been useful to have a bulletin point on the web site staying that this is an issue, this way people can then bring along some protection in terms of sprays or face nets etc, I have never been on a site where everyone is sat inside their tents and the childrens playground is empty, fearing that if the go outside they will be bitten to death. We had been booked in for two nights, but left after one and we shall never return to this site, not what I would have expected from the club.
