Stayed for 3 nights in September. Us (2) in campervan and daughter (plus her dog) in tent. Site very quiet but has magnificent views and a stream running through. Limited showers (2) and washbasins (3)... fine whilst site was quiet but not sure how would cope if full. We were on area just inside the gate (wanted hook-up).. There are a number of other fields including a delightful area by the stream. Agree this should be reclassified as a Listed Site rather than a CS. The Bala heritage line is just behind, with a cafe and The Eagles pub about 10 mins walk away, where we had wholesome food (certainly not haut cuisine!) one night. Added bonus is the dogs are welcome in the bar area. The site was well kept and the owners/steward laid back and friendly. Would use again but avoid peak times when the facilities could be overwhelmed.

We booked this site by phone using the big sites book for reference and we didnt see the prevous reviews. The site has a small field as a CS but everyone on the rest of the site drives through it to get to the other camping fields so it is far from quiet. We were near the bins and toilet block so again not really the peaceful CS we were expecting. Especially when the bin men came at 0630 the first day and 0700 the second. The site is a good base for the miniature Bala Railway with the station at the site entrance that also has a nice little cafe. 10minutes walk to the Eagle pub that does excellent food.Overpriced at £18 a night with no difference for members.

True, there were only 5 caravans, but there were SCORES of tents when we stayed here for Easter. A pleasant location, but a BUSY site.

I didn't find this site at all noisy.

This review is for Bwch yn Uchaf

I didn't find this site at all noisy. We stayed one weekend and there were only another 5-10 tents on the site and a couple of caravans. I like the fact the owner allows fires (in a pit) and even permits you to use your own wood. We pitched on a space by the stream - the shower block was a short walk away but there are 3 handy portaloos on the lower pitch which I always found clean. The showers and free and hot (if you turn the temp all the way up). 5 minute walk to the pub and the steam railway virtually in the campsite! What more could you need. The owner was welcoming and friendly and I would definately go back to this site again.
