Enjoy the tranquillity of the Snowdonia National Park from this peaceful rural site.

Our Bala Club campsite boasts an idyllic rural location just outside the eastern boundary of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and six miles north of the lake after which it is named. Surrounded by amazing scenery, Bala campsite is the ideal base for exploring the attractions of north Wales.

The pretty and secluded 50 pitch site is level and well maintained with a good range of facilities including toilets, showers, laundry, a small children’s play area and a small dog walk. A short drive away, the town of Bala offer a variety of shops, a petrol station and places to eat. Sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing are all possible on Bala Lake and there are good walks and cycle routes from here too. Bala Lake Railway and the Ffestiniog Railways are great ways to take in the local scenery.

Less than an hour’s drive from Bala campsite is Snowdon, Wales’ highest peak. Scale its heights on foot or catch the train to the summit.

Local resorts with good sandy beaches include Prestatyn, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, Harlech, Barmouth Fairbourne and Aberdovey.

Ideal for Bala and Lake Vyrnwy.

This review is for Bala

Ideal for Bala and Lake Vyrnwy. Mountain road to the latter not for the worried driver, but lovely if you can cope. Road through Llangynog, though, is a different matter. Tabat valley has some stunning views. Watch out for local events. I attended a talk on the Antarctic by a member of the British Antarctic Survey, with a bangers and mash supper in Hirnant. Great fun to meet locals and share in their social. Could have gone to a WW1 event or a concert. Lots going on. Site very pleasant with good wardens. Wildlife encouraged, especially birds and bats.

This is a really rural location, the town of Bala is 2 miles or so. Good range of shops. The nearest large supermarket is 30 miles away! Snowdon is about 20 miles and well worth a visit. The slate museum (free), electric mountain and there's a choice of narrow gauge railways. The trip to the top of snowdon is worth doing but try to wait for a clear day. The views are spectacular. The site is very quiet and dark, very dark! The toilets are dated but very well looked after. There is a small on site shop which doubles as the site office.
