    Top site for fishing

On-site fishing available and the Cotswolds within easy driving distance.

You’ll find our pretty Winchcombe Club campsite in the heart of the Cotswolds. Its location near the village of Alderton makes this campsite the perfect base for exploring the area’s pretty honey-colour limestone towns and villages. It’s great walking country too. ¬For starters there’s the Winchcombe way. This 42-mile, figure-of-eight trail runs adjacent to the campsite.

Winchcombe is a charming, quiet little site with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. The focal point of the site is its carp pool – attractive not only to fishermen but an abundance of friendly birdlife too. Bag yourself a pool-side pitch and enjoy a prime fishing spot.

The site has excellent toilet and shower facilities, a games room and dog walk. And the site shop stocks a variety of local produce from nearby farms, dairies, butchers and bakers.

The attractive town of Winchcombe is a short drive from the site. It has Walkers are Welcome status and a tempting variety of top restaurants, pubs and tea shops. Further afield Cheltenham with its elegant Regency houses, award-wining gardens and stylish shops is worth visiting.

If you'd like to go glamping then Winchcombe Ready Camp is the perfect choice. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Self-catering accommodation is also available at this campsite.

Stayed just 2 nights at this site but would certainly recommend - lovely central lake for fishing and although we do not fish lovely watching the wildlife. Unfortunately we woke to a couple of inches of snow on the morning we left - the wardens could not have been more helpful as we had difficulty pulling our caravan off the pitch - the heating in the shower/toilet blocks had broken down which they rang to let us know about - we were very impressed at this - the block was a little cold but the water was hot so did not cause a problem - this is a site we would love to return to in the better weather Winchcombe is a lovely place and we spent a lovely afternoon in Cheltenham at the Christmas market.

We cannot fault this campsite the lake was nice we had a pitch right by it, we were feeding the birds and the ducks which used to come round and ask for the bread ha, the people on the reception desk were so friendly, toilets and showers were really clean and there was always one free. We arrived on Friday which was great as the fish & chip man came on Fridays very nice they were to, Great recreation room and playground for kids. The site was lovely and peaceful as mainly older couples in caravans. Beautiful location Anyway we had a lovely few days and will definitely be back!!

We went to this site because it was on our way home from Cornway and my husband loves heritage railways. This site is perfect for the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway which was just a short drive from the campsite. The campsite is in the middle of the country with some lovely views over the countryside. Has a nice dog exercise area and at this time of year was really peaceful. The staff were as friendly as Ive ever come across. I guess the only slight downside was that we chose to park furthest away from the toilet facilities to gain the best from the lovely views but the walk in the early darker evenings was interesting as it isn't at all well lit as compared to other sites we have been on. Its just a small thing really at an otherwise really lovely site which is in an ideal location to visit so many attractions in the Cotswold area and into Herefordshire and Worcestershire too. In fact it is central to a lot of places within an hours drive. We only live in Shropshire so don't live that far away but it is certainly a campsite we would use again and regularly I am sure.
