Giving this beautiful forrest site a low mark maybe unfair as we arrived on a bank holiday weekend and the whole site was over run with families with young children and it was quite a hectic site to be on and the wardens were doing there best to keep everyone happy and getting campers organised.we had pre booked two pitches hoping to get together which we didn't again the bank holiday to blame for that unfortunately one off us being pitched next to a family group with unruly screaming kids didn't fill us with excitement but by the monday with most of the weekend chaos packing up and going home our peaceful holiday began and this is exactly the site for it with its surrounding forests and walks it was an ideal place to be. The site is desperately in need of a face lift with using the main shower/toilet block at the entrance of the site was our only option as the other blocks were not the cleanest of places to use. Grey and chemical waste points also need an update. Putting all the disappointments aside we would definitely recommend this site all-day long but avoid bank holidays if you don't like parents with no control over their kids.

We were made very welcome from the word go.

We were made very welcome from the word go. Direct access to the forest where you could walk for a week and still not see it all! We were lucky to see wild fallow deer, one with a fawn, and just as we were leaving we saw a wild boar and babies. We stayed on our way to Wales and again on our way back. Yes, the facilities did need a bit of a facelift but that is planned before next season. Grab rails for us oldies in the showers please. Thank you we will surely be back.

We booked this site at short notice on the Forest 33% offer, it was the best long weekend we have had in our caravan in the last 4 years. The site is clean and well maintained, the approach lane is a bit pot holed but easily navigated, watch the speed humps. The view from our pitch was the best for the sunset over the valley. The site is quite sloped in areas but ample flat areas if you look. We were lucky as there were only a few there as it was the end of the Whit week. This site has definitely been put on our must visit again list.

Have just spent a lovely, relaxing bank holiday weekend at Bracelands.

This review is for Bracelands - Forest of Dean

Have just spent a lovely, relaxing bank holiday weekend at Bracelands. The site was well maintained, the staff were pleasant and the toilet blocks were clean. We arrived at a busy time but were still booked in within 10 minutes. There were plenty of wardens visible on site throughout our stay and we liked the fact that they enforced the 6 metre gap ruling. The site is a good base for those like us who enjoy walking and cycling, and is ideal for families as there is plenty of space to run around and explore.
