With spectacular views over Loch Lomond, this Club campsite is great for relaxing.

The appeal of our Milarrochy Bay Club campsite has to be its location on the east shore of the stunning Loch Lomond in the Loch Lomond and Trossach’s National Park.

This tranquil campsite is popular with walkers, with the West Highland Way footpath right on the doorstep, while Ben Lomond, the highest mountain in the area, is north of the campsite near Rowardennan. Milarrochy Bay campsite will appeal to boaters and canoeists too with a long loch-side frontage with slipways for boat launching.

After a day’s walking or messing around on the water, this campsite is ideal for just sitting back and soaking up the breathtaking views across the Loch. This 150-pitch campsite welcomes all types of campers. Backpackers using the site can make use on the backpacker facility – a bonus in inclement weather.

South of the campsite in Balloch you can enjoy a guided hike from the Loch Lomond Shores Visitor Centre or follow the Sculpture Trail from Loch Lomond Shores. Hop on a water bus from here too and enjoy a wide range of cruises, some calling in at the Loch’s many islands, or hire a kayak, canoe or pedal boat. The amazing Sea Life Centre is here too and Balloch Castle and Country Park.

Learn about the Scottish folk hero Red MacGregor at the Rob Roy and Trossach’s Visitor Centre at Callendar. Rob Roy’s Cave and Bracklinn Falls are here too.

No trip to Scotland should be without a taste of its favourite tipple. East of Balloch at Blairquhosh the Glengoyne Distillery offers whisky tours and tastings.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Boat launching and storage is available on this site. Canoes, kayaks and windsurfs can be launched free of charge. Boats on a trailer will be charged a launching fee. Please note that the site has very limited parking for new arrivals and a short access road from the narrow B837 road which runs to the site. Please do not arrive before 1pm as we may not have space for you to park and wait.

Bring your toys to launch right into the Loch. Also bring military grade mosquito repellent.

Bring your toys to launch right into the Loch. Also bring military grade mosquito repellent. Really clean level site with plenty of great spots. This isn't a site to drink and party but just sit back with a cold one and visit with neighbors. We went off on some days to visit other areas and felt safe level our tent and belongings behind. Lots of staff always on duty cleaning, gardening and answering questions. They were all friendly and helpful.

Pleasantly located on the shores of Loch Lomond, the site is very peaceful and pretty, staff very friendly. It is a bit of a hike to the nearest village, not for the elderly. Nice village of balmaha, with public house, cafe, ice cream shop. We caught bus to Balloch, went for boat tour of the Loch. Helpful staff in Tourist Information. Lots of backpackers at this site who were very friendly.

Generally found the site to be as described in the club description.

This review is for Milarrochy Bay

Generally found the site to be as described in the club description. Well kept and run efficiently and would revisit. My only criticisms of the site are the location of the Elsa point which is at one end of the camp nearer to the tents than the majority of caravans or motorhomes so could either do with relocating or another added at the other end of the site. My other criticism is that given the number of motorhomes using the site, the facilities for them are very poor. There is no service point to fill up with water and no drop point for waste water, even a grid is better than nothing. When I asked the staff about grey water emptying, I was told I could borrow a bucket to empty manually a 70litre tank? So be aware that some thought is needed on this one or even just making a grid available for motorhome's.
