We booked a two night break for ourselves and our dog at Springfields.

We booked a two night break for ourselves and our dog at Springfields. We knew before we left there were no toilet facilities, but even with our folding camper, we had our own. So the facilities weren't a problem and I haven't deducted any stars for that ~ simply because the place is idyllic for adults and dogs. There's a dog walk around the farm, more walks in nearby Tollesbury's Blackwater Nature Reserve. If walking is your active holiday, this is for you. The site is quiet, the resident dogs, chickens and pony are lovely ~ and the owners so very welcoming. The bays are marked by shrubbery and there was lots of space between them. We never felt at all cramped. This was only our second trip away and we will definitely return to this site.

What a beautiful site this is. Keith the owner couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.

What a beautiful site this is. Keith the owner couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We had floods and downed trees on the way to the site and kept in touch to advise of our late arrival. We were followed into the site by Keith who had driven out to find us. He put us up in the approach area which had electric and water close by. In the morning we moved onto the pitch which could truly be described as a well kept garden. It's wonderful, manicured to obsessive levels and just beautiful to behold. The other caravanners were an extremely friendly bunch and were happy to advise on pubs/restaurants/places to go. There are no toilets or showers at the site but all the required CDP, water and electric points were up to a good standard. The peace and quiet was seldom interrupted until the local stunt flier started practicing over the fields opposite. Fantastic to watch. Keiths dogs who are all rescue dogs are very well behaved and Jet is especially loving. The pony, geese and chickens make up a happy family with Susan, Keiths (Long suffering?) wife keeping things running smoothly. We met some lovely people and relaxed to the point that I left much too late on our last day. We will return, and you'd be advised to do the same at your earliest opportunity, you won't be disappointed, I guarantee it. :)

Great welcome and have returned already this year due to the great loaction and beautiful site. The bays are defiended with borders and there are several animals to look at and great walks in the area. We plan on making this our main weekend stop as its close to many attractions and yet has the peace of the country. I marked this as a 4 for facilities as it doesnt have a toilet or shower which are the only down side.
