Excellent very peaceful site. We arrived early and had a lovely welcome from the owner who gave us a choice of plots. The facilities were clean with a good shower. The meadow was lovely with lots of trees. It was very quiet and peaceful. The weather was excellent. Would definitely recommend this site for peaceful relaxing time.

What a wonderful quirky and tranquil site just PERFECT for an escape from the rat race. This is a great certified site. The meadow where the pitches are located has a number of electric hookups and water taps. The ground has good drainage and is nice and flat. The owner is an absolute star giving a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The meadow is full of wildlife and has a magical feel about it which transforms you into a state of relaxation! The facilities are excellent for a certified site with a spotless shower, two toilets, a washing up sink and a washing machine. We have found a little haven of natural beauty and will be rushing back soon. :)

Total perfection in the heart of Essex, a peaceful oasis set in the sunny meadow where all you hear are Birds singing to the dawn. Must say what an AMAZING campsite, where you will fall in love and never want to leave. seems like everyone who has visited woodpecker meadows keeps it secret as not to spoil the total peace and tranquillity. A GEM to the camping and Caravanning Club, everything you could wish for, from the warm and friendly welcome, Inga has got it just right, the facility's are spotless and have everything you could wish for, from a washing machine and fridge freezer to a lovely large shower and toilet. The pitches are Perfect and you can just sit and watch the sunset over the trees and listen to the birds singing as the sunrises on another day of Bliss. Take Turn off 25 on the A12 for easier access as the country lanes can be Narrow in places, We got lost and Inga was a star guiding us in and knowing where we were, she was even standing at her gate waiting for Us in the Rain !! was great to see a friendly smile after the sat nav taking us on a de-tour !! Not Great when your towing! very central to many attractions, short drive to fish n chips, Chinese and Sainsbury's etc ....Would say a perfect Base for exploring the Essex countryside, The Bluebell woods Are Magical and great for Dog walks, country pubs and great food also would recommend Cream Tea at the Tip tree Jam Factory and Museum. One cream tea between 2 is enough with extra pot of tea as you get 2 giant scones, but must say tea for 2 is Lush too.... so if you are looking to relax feel the sun on your face look at the stars and be stress free this is the place to Visit, We are already booked up again for end of Month and Our friends are Booked too as they were so impressed when the came to visit as I was Boasting how wonderful Kildegaard IS. YOU too will want to keep this little OASIS OF HEAVEN a secret too xx Enjoy x

Really peaceful site Really warm welcome and shown round the facilities which are two toilets, one with a shower and sink. Washing machine and wash up area. You get a key for night visits to the loo. Emptying of your cassette is next to the building and tap just outside the gate to the field. Pitch nice and flat with electrics one side of the field and no electrics the other. No views as such as it's surrounded by high hedging and trees. Only noise are the birds singing. Although you feel as if you are in the middle of no where you are only 2 miles from the A12 and about 3/4 miles to shops. Harvester and Toby just down the road towards Stanway where you will also find a Frankie and Benny's, Costa, McDonalds, Sainsburys and further along Aldi. Now there is a park and ride off J28 on the A12. Loads to do in the area like Colchester, Maldon which us a must and Clacton. Huge car boot at Marks Tey on Wednesday and Ardleigh in Sunday. We came from the A120 and found it better to get to the site this way as off the A12 is quite bad when towing. As you come along from Marks Tey turn right towards Copford. Don't take the turn to Easthorpe just past the pub as it's very narrow and bendy but go further till you see a White House and turn right there. You will see a thatched cottage in the distance and then a bungalow on the right and the site is on the left just past there. Will come here again if in the area.
