Adjacent to the beach, Normans Bay site is a haven for walkers and nature lovers.

On the East Sussex coast, our Normans Bay Club campsite is perfect for family camping holidays. Opposite is a sand and shingle beach - ideal for sandcastles, kite flying and bathing. The popular seaside resorts of Eastbourne and Brighton are to the west and Bexhill-on-Sea to the east.

The open and level site has 200 pitches and three amenity blocks. Facilities include washing machines, a parent and child room, children’s play area and recreation hall. There is also a well-stocked site shop.

The nearby Pevensey Levels, known for nature conservation and agriculture, will satisfy nature lovers. For walkers, the South Downs Way (pick it up at the Seven Sisters Country Park) is a great way to see the stunning East Sussex countryside.

The area is steeped in history - the Normans landed here in 1066. Join the 1066 Way which takes you around Battle, Hastings and Pevensey Castle, one of Britain’s oldest strongholds, to discover some of this history.

Eastbourne, five miles south west of the campsite, offers a plethora of things to see and do. There are parks and gardens, the Sovereign Marina with a host of shops, craft outlets and eating places and several beaches offering safe bathing and a variety of water-based activities.

Other attractions in the area include the magnificent moated Herstmonceux Castle, Drusillas Park and Charleston Manor.

Worth Noting

The site is next to a dog-friendly beach, where fishing is available.

Ball games and kite flying are not permitted on site, however the adjacent beach is a perfect spot for these activities.

Very peaceful, clean site.

Very peaceful, clean site. Could get a bit noisy at weekend's if near the playground but that's only to be expected. Good clean toilet blocks and well stocked shop. Ideal for our visit that it's near the sea as we went in a heatwave, and as we had two dogs were glad to be able to cool down on the beach. Staff all really friendly. Can't wait for our next visit.

We have been coming here in our various tents for many years until I suffered a stroke. Camping was put on hold for five years until we decided to try again on a familiar site. I was not disappointed. We were given a lovely welcome and directed to a pitch near the new shower block in the lee of a hedge. The site is well placed for visiting local tourist attractions and there are many places to eat out. Pevensey Bay itself is looking a bit jaded now, but has a great Indian restaurant- Raipur. The only down side on the site was that the hedge behind the tent was also a starling roost! Slightly messy tent and an early morning wake up call, but that's nature for you. The whole experience has given me the confidence to go back to camping. I'd forgotten how lovely it is to be out in the fresh air all the time.

Had a brilliant short holiday. Re-visiting site I regularly came to as a child.

Had a brilliant short holiday. Re-visiting site I regularly came to as a child. Memories of Annie's shop beyond the static caravans and a caf next to it. When the weather was wet we would play records on an old record player in the big black barn.... Memories! Now it's a little different!! The barn is replaced with a combined washing facility and recreation room. Weather so good we spent lots of time on the beach. We liked the chance to buy fish & chips on site on the Friday night. You could get them on Saturday as well. A suggestion: Bicycles for hire? It is so flat there and could be useful to visit the village of Norman's Bay just a short way down the coast.
