On the East Sussex coast, our Normans Bay Club campsite is perfect for family camping holidays. Opposite is a sand and shingle beach - ideal for sandcastles, kite flying and bathing. The popular seaside resorts of Eastbourne and Brighton are to the west and Bexhill-on-Sea to the east.

The open and level site has 200 pitches and three amenity blocks. Facilities include washing machines, a parent and child room, children’s play area and recreation hall. There is also a well-stocked site shop.

The nearby Pevensey Levels, known for nature conservation and agriculture, will satisfy nature lovers. For walkers, the South Downs Way (pick it up at the Seven Sisters Country Park) is a great way to see the stunning East Sussex countryside.

The area is steeped in history - the Normans landed here in 1066. Join the 1066 Way which takes you around Battle, Hastings and Pevensey Castle, one of Britain’s oldest strongholds, to discover some of this history.

Eastbourne, five miles south west of the campsite, offers a plethora of things to see and do. There are parks and gardens, the Sovereign Marina with a host of shops, craft outlets and eating places and several beaches offering safe bathing and a variety of water-based activities.

Other attractions in the area include the magnificent moated Herstmonceux Castle, Drusillas Park and Charleston Manor.

A very warm welcome from all the hardworking staff.

This review is for Normans Bay

A very warm welcome from all the hardworking staff. Facilities were very well maintained right down to the tending of plants around the water stand pipes. Lots to do in surrounding area, shame about the weather, however, not wardens fault eh? just put on a coat & enjoy. My ONLY gripe is NOT with the site, facilities or wardens but with fellow dog owning campers..............PLEASE respect other users of the shower blocks and REFRAIN from blowdrying your dogs fur using the hairdryers, not all of us wish to put our towels down on a shelf covered in dog hair!!! Rant over. Oh & great Night fishing was had :-) Be back soon

This review is for Normans Bay

Just back from 2 night stay, our first visit to Normans Bay. Wardens very welcoming and helpful upon arrive and site is very well maintained. Toilet and shower blocks kept clean to high standard. Shower was very hot. Beach is just across the road, lovely walks. Eastbourne a short drive and we also visited Hastings which wasn't far. There is an Asda and Tesco short drives away. One thumbs down for me and that was children with a football. My understanding is there is a no ball games rule? It was being kicked around when warden showed them their pitch, then it ended up under my van and then the child was playing 'kick ups' while stood on our pitch. I'm not a party pooper but I don't want a football being kicked near my van or vehicle. Would go back to this site again, lovely area and site.

We use to come to Normans bay yearly because it's was fantastic for the kids to play on the beach and had great dog walks (off lead) and a big choice of pubs, restaurants and takeaways within a ten min drive. We had decided not to come back any more because the manageress at the time was so rude and aggressive and treated everyone as if she doing them a favour. However we heard that new managers had taken over so as it's such a great spot we thought we'd give it another go Wow wow wow what a difference !!! The new managers and staff are polar opposites to the last lot. we got a warm welcome, with smiles and everything!! And while they were rigid about the safety 6mtr rule for the first time ever we were able to site the van facing the direction that was most practical (bearing in mind that after very heavy rains the ground can get boggy in some places (in a previous year we had been told we had to face one way only and to "lump it or leave" (literally)) There were lots of campers and caravaner coming and going so the staff were busy bustling about but always they smiled and said hallo and made us feel relaxed and welcome. The toilet block has been revamped and was nice and clean and there are now enough showers. The only slight difficulty we experienced is that the cafe/bakery opposite Rosie's fish far is the only place we found that would allow us to take our dogs inside when it was raining windy (and it can get very windy)or cold . Plenty of places had outdoor tables though. The star pub near Normans bay station does excellent food serving huge portions. And pablos in sovereign harbour was great. Our thanks to the managers and staff they are a credit to the c&c club. We will definitely be back.
