Adjacent to the beach, Normans Bay site is a haven for walkers and nature lovers.

On the East Sussex coast, our Normans Bay Club campsite is perfect for family camping holidays. Opposite is a sand and shingle beach - ideal for sandcastles, kite flying and bathing. The popular seaside resorts of Eastbourne and Brighton are to the west and Bexhill-on-Sea to the east.

The open and level site has 200 pitches and three amenity blocks. Facilities include washing machines, a parent and child room, children’s play area and recreation hall. There is also a well-stocked site shop.

The nearby Pevensey Levels, known for nature conservation and agriculture, will satisfy nature lovers. For walkers, the South Downs Way (pick it up at the Seven Sisters Country Park) is a great way to see the stunning East Sussex countryside.

The area is steeped in history - the Normans landed here in 1066. Join the 1066 Way which takes you around Battle, Hastings and Pevensey Castle, one of Britain’s oldest strongholds, to discover some of this history.

Eastbourne, five miles south west of the campsite, offers a plethora of things to see and do. There are parks and gardens, the Sovereign Marina with a host of shops, craft outlets and eating places and several beaches offering safe bathing and a variety of water-based activities.

Other attractions in the area include the magnificent moated Herstmonceux Castle, Drusillas Park and Charleston Manor.

Worth Noting

The site is next to a dog-friendly beach, where fishing is available.

Ball games and kite flying are not permitted on site, however the adjacent beach is a perfect spot for these activities.

A big site and consequently busy, with a real mixture of campers, but no noise at night apart from the wind and the sea! Very well maintained, with plenty of loo and shower amenities and the showers are not push button which I always see as a bonus. Right on a beautiful stretch of coast, so easy access to the beach for walks (shingle, so the walks aren't quick ones!) But if you time it right, when the tides out you'll find some sand and the walking is easier. Quite exposed because of its coastal position and was incredibly windy for a couple of days, but that just means there's opportunity for kite flying and wind surfing on the beach. If we revisit Sussex in the future, we'd definitely consider using this site again.

Had a great holiday, helped by the fact that the staff where able to site us next to the other half of the family. The site is very well looked after and the facilities clean and smart. The site staff are very friendly and pleasant. The beach is pebble which I like because everything is not full of sand. Unfortunately the fishing was rubbish this year. Looking forward to going again.

This site was perfect for us and our dog. Just across the road from the beach, 15 mins walk to the left of the site to the Star pub for good food and 20 mins walk to the right to the Aqua bar for music. We were fortunate to have good weather and the added benefit of seeing most of the planes from Eastbournes airshow fly over the site. Onsite facility were clean, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this site and we will be back.

Local town had basics with plenty of choice for eating out supermarkets you had to travel a bit further as for the site it was clean facilities whilst we were there we found clean and tidy did our bit for recycling one small comment unlike other sites I've been too the wifi is limited and does not have extra aerials to boost the signal throughout the site so you have to stand near reception for a signal which is bit of a pain apart from that we had a great time
