Adjacent to the beach, Normans Bay site is a haven for walkers and nature lovers.

On the East Sussex coast, our Normans Bay Club campsite is perfect for family camping holidays. Opposite is a sand and shingle beach - ideal for sandcastles, kite flying and bathing. The popular seaside resorts of Eastbourne and Brighton are to the west and Bexhill-on-Sea to the east.

The open and level site has 200 pitches and three amenity blocks. Facilities include washing machines, a parent and child room, children’s play area and recreation hall. There is also a well-stocked site shop.

The nearby Pevensey Levels, known for nature conservation and agriculture, will satisfy nature lovers. For walkers, the South Downs Way (pick it up at the Seven Sisters Country Park) is a great way to see the stunning East Sussex countryside.

The area is steeped in history - the Normans landed here in 1066. Join the 1006 Way which takes you around Battle, Hastings and Pevensey Castle, one of Britain’s oldest strongholds, to discover some of this history.

Eastbourne, five miles south west of the campsite, offers a plethora of things to see and do. There are parks and gardens, the Sovereign Marina with a host of shops, craft outlets and eating places and several beaches offering safe bathing and a variety of water-based activities.

Other attractions in the area include the magnificent moated Herstmonceux Castle, Drusillas Park and Charleston Manor.

Worth Noting

The site is next to a dog-friendly beach, where fishing is available.

Ball games and kite flying are not permitted on site, however the adjacent beach is a perfect spot for these activities.

Eat Local

There is a farmers' market in Pevensey Bay every other Saturday. The Star Inn offers campers a discount voucher for mid-week carvery lunches.

We stopped for a week in our TT here.

This review is for Normans Bay

We stopped for a week in our TT here. The pitches although a bit close together were flat & in good condition. The staff allowed us to pick, although he'd already picked a great spot for us as we had 2 young kids 5yo & 7yo, and positioned us on the back with facilities nearby & the park. It was a very busy site with a mixture of tents, TT, caravans & motorhomes but quiet and relaxing still. The coastal beach was within 5 minutes walking distance. It was a cobble beach, but at low tide there was plenty of sand. The beach is clean & perfect to have a lovely day on. The sea is cold (no surprise there) but once you're in you get used to it & it's great fun & a safe depth for the kids. Was a good location/base for other days out too. Plenty of castles/Abbeys within 40 mins drive. Hastings / Battle nearby. Large out of town shopping within 13 mins drive. Eastbourne nearby & Brighton a little further on. My only criticism of the site would be about the no ball games allowed on site rule. There are good reasons for this, we accepted that & complied but why not create a corner near the play area or section off an area for them to play ball in? Kids love to play ball! We will definitely return (even though it's a 4hr drive), and would recommend this site to everyone!

This is a good site with quite a lot of hardstandings although ideally there should be more as they always seem to be taken up before I get there. The main attraction close by is the deserted beach. Retail facilities close by are limited but Eastbourne and Bexhill are about a 20 minute drive away.
