Overview

Explore the villages, towns and coast of the south east from this campsite.

Our Crowborough Club campsite lies in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Ashdown Forest, the setting for A.A.Milnes wonderful Winnie the Pooh books is on the doorstep.

London is around 35 miles to the north and the historic spa town of Tunbridge Wells seven miles north west. While the coastal towns of Eastbourne, Brighton and Hastings are around 20 miles away.

The campsite is well laid out. Trees and hedges divide the site giving a more secluded feel in some areas and some sheltered pitches for tent campers. A good range of on-site facilities are available including toilet and showers, a laundry, disabled facilities and a recreation room.

Woodland walks can be enjoyed direct from the campsite and the neighbouring park and leisure centre and swimming pool provide convenient entertainment for younger family members.

Crowborough town is a ten-minute walk from the campsite and offers shops and a good range of places to eat. Visit Tunbridge Wells for its elegant architecture and the Pantiles – a colonnaded walkway where you can browse, shop, eat and stroll.

For family days out visit Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, Chiddingstone Caste, The Mill Toy and Pedal Car Museum and The Kent and East Sussex Railway. Biddenden is just one of many Vineyards in the area.

If you'd like to go glamping then Crowborough Ready Camp is the perfect choice. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Many pitches are sloping and chocks will be required. Recreation room with table tennis for hire.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

There are several vineyards in the area, including Bolney, Sedlescombe and Chapel Down. The Blue Anchor pub smokes its own fish. Farmers' markets are held in the town and Laurel Farm sells local produce.

Nice site in convenient location but I think teenagers had radio on in recreation field which borders one edge of site so had to put up with their music (although only for an hour but could have been more). Also I am put off camping now as wish club sites would be strict on noise levels. At so many sites people play loud music or, as at Crowborough, I had neighbours with radio 4 full blast for hours (and Graffham last year loud music from one of the motorhomes and Nairn last year caravan with TV on full blast and window open). I think notices need to be up everywhere or even better ban radios and music, as some smaller sites do. So often lovely locations are spoiled by those who don't consider others. Camping is meant to be a peaceful get-away but I came home a day early to get some peace and quiet.

Pashley Manor, Ticehurst. Fantastic gardens.

Pashley Manor, Ticehurst. Fantastic gardens. Very convenient bus service to Brighton, Lewes and Tunbridge Wells. Good supermarkets short distance from site. Beautiful views from park and a swimming pool in the leisure centre. Only one slight downside was recycling rubbish a fair walk from our pitch into the Biffo bins. As the site was packed with people, the toilets and showers didn't seem adequate for the volume of people staying.

We stayed three days to visit family. We would use this site again and can thoroughly recommend it. It is kept very clean. The grass is short and lush and I liked all the nut trees as they reminded me of my childhood when I lived in Uckfield.

This year was the third time we have stayed on this site and we have always found it most friendly and welcoming, though now a little investment would not go amiss. For example the posts designed to keep people off the grass desperately need replacing as they are frequently below the driver's field of vision and hence not only ineffective but also a potential danger to vehicles. The staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help with a few minor problems we had with car and caravan. The town is within easy walking distance and most items can be purchased the shops there which include 3 supermarkets. There is also a caravan dealer just 7 miles up the road should any spares be needed for your caravan. Inevitably some of these items are also suitable for tent campers. Overally a superb site but could do with a little investment
