Overview

Explore the villages, towns and coast of the south east from this campsite.

Our Crowborough Club campsite lies in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Ashdown Forest, the setting for A.A.Milnes wonderful Winnie the Pooh books is on the doorstep. London is around 35 miles to the north and the historic spa town of Tunbridge Wells seven miles north west. While the coastal towns of Eastbourne, Brighton and Hastings are around 20 miles away.

The campsite is well laid out. Trees and hedges divide the site giving a more secluded feel in some areas and some sheltered pitches for tent campers. A good range of on-site facilities are available including toilet and showers, a laundry, disabled facilities and a recreation room.

Woodland walks can be enjoyed direct from the campsite and the neighbouring park and leisure centre and swimming pool provide convenient entertainment for younger family members.

Crowborough town is a ten-minute walk from the campsite and offers shops and a good range of places to eat. Visit Tunbridge Wells for its elegant architecture and the Pantiles – a colonnaded walkway where you can browse, shop, eat and stroll.

For family days out visit Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, Chiddingstone Caste, The Mill Toy and Pedal Car Museum and The Kent and East Sussex Railway. Biddenden is just one of many Vineyards in the area.

Worth Noting

Many pitches are sloping and chocks will be required. Recreation room with table tennis for hire.

This was out first time camping and we really couldn't have chosen a lovelier campsite.

This was out first time camping and we really couldn't have chosen a lovelier campsite. Despite there being no pubs within walking distance (big bug bear for my husband!) the site was delightful - quiet, clean and everyone very friendly!

The site adjoins, and is accessed via, the Leisure centre.

The site adjoins, and is accessed via, the Leisure centre. The layout includes a mix of pitch types and sizes spread over three or more levels. Families need to be aware of deep water adjoining the lower site boundary. Facilities very clean although the water pressure seemed low in the showers (temperature adjustable with the head on a hose, hooray!). There are two toilet blocks, the mens in each has two toilets and two showers. This may not be enough when the site is full There is a recreation room available with a good wifi signal - the signal varies across the site. Crowbourough town had little to detain me but Tunbridge Wells is well worth a visit. Make sure you go to the 'Pantiles' arcade.

Crowborough is a wonderfully well maintained and spotlessly clean site.

Crowborough is a wonderfully well maintained and spotlessly clean site. Highly recommend this wonderful site. We will be back for sure. The little town has a lovely Constitutional club, plus a fab Indian restaurant call Rajpoot. Just behind the site their is a leisure centre which you can use and get discount, YAY !!! There are buses just outside, the road to the town has a slight incline, easier behind the Leisure centre or taxi 2.80. Give it a go. Give it a go sometime, you will have a great time.
