Of all the sites we have visited, this is the first that we would not return too.

This review is for Cashel - Loch Lomond

Of all the sites we have visited, this is the first that we would not return too. On arrival, although the staff were polite, they were not particularly helpful or welcoming. You are told to choose a pitch, however, there is no way of knowing if a pitch is free, or has already been allocated to a motor home. When you have chosen, you have to trudge back and forth to reception to see if the pitch is actually free. (Despite being the only arrials at the time, the receptionist acted as though she'd never seen me before each time I went back to check for the pitch, asking me to confirm my details each time, would have been comical if it hadn't been so frustrating). There is a long list of rules, which you are reminded of regularly. There are signs on every available wall space. Despite stating they are dog friendly, I would suggest that dog tolerant would be more accurate. Dogs are not to be exercised on site, nor are there any dog bins if by chance your dog "performs" on site. There is a very small playground for children. My children were bored within minutes on there, and despite being school holidays, there were few children around for them to play with. We paid for a premium pitch, which was directly on the edge of the loch and had its own picnic bench. It was a beautiful spot, so much so that we regularly had other guests using our pitch, even setting up a bbq on it at on point!! The location is absolutely stunning and the facilities were well kept (although the road was a little hairy if you're towing). However this site didn't live up to our expectations.

This review is for Cashel - Loch Lomond

We stayed on this site during the Commonwealth Games, obviously it was busier than normal and this was putting a strain on the staff. We have stayed at numerous C & CC and CC sites and have never encountered such poor organisation as we did at Cashel. On booking in we were told to choose 'any pitch' along a certain route, this we did, sent the kids to book in and were told not once but twice that pitches we chose were reserved, neither pitch had any signs or notices on and after an 8 hour drive with 3 kids and two dogs we were understandably getting very frustrated. The staff member my husband dealt with was very rude and un helpful, we realised later in the week that this happened to many other people at the site, several times I walked into the shop to overhear arguments between staff and customers about the pitching system. We had tickets to the Games and our session, like all the other evening sessions, finished at 10.30pm. Glasgow was about 45min drive and we were told that unless we arrived back on site by 10pm the gate would be locked, we would have to park in the over flow tiny carpark. The road approaching the site is dangerous and has a no parking rule, when we finally got back from the Games the car park was full and cars were literally having to park where they could get a space, in our case right in front of the gate. Everyone I spoke to felt that given the special event taking place so closeby that involved a large number of campers the staff should have made an exception and left the gate open. I must also add that on one occasion we needed help from the staff and the lady went out of her way to help us. This is a truly stunning site, right next to Loch Lomond and it is a great shame that the organisation and customer service lets it down.

I have either taken a tent, motorhome, or used a caravan for my whole life, and as a kid, we used to go to Cashel Campsite with a tent and the boat. I am now taking my partner, and my son, again with the ten and boat, and can not express how nice the staff are, how clean the facilities are, and how beautiful the campsite and views are. We are making a habit of coming to this camp site each year with the boat. We can Highly recommend it. It is also Dog friendly as well.

This review is for Cashel - Loch Lomond

We love to visit the beautiful shores of loch lomond. I find the staff Lazy! They do Not greet you. You have to find your own pitch then go back up to the reception to make sure it's available? Why is this Not arranged better? The toilet facilities outside are horrendous! Of course you expect spider's & all the little creatures of the day. However it's absolutely ridiculous the amount there! In the Disabled shower they where Everywhere! They where falling onto my partner as he showered. I Honestly took a panic attack at the site & could NOT walk in. A simple clean is what I would suggest. After visiting other campsites, I feel the hygiene here is Definitely not to standards. There's a lot of people who are aracnaphobic & this should be taken into account. The showers are so hot that the children Must be careful. Also beware of the Midges & moths. So many at night. I would recommend this IF you are alright with a village of creepy crawlies, as that's what it felt like. Shame as views are breathtaking.
