Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
Whilst the majority of Certificated Sites do permit children, please be aware that this site has chosen to be Adults Only.

Multi award winning campsite is situated in the village of Garlieston and sits in its own 5 acres of woodland, a small river runs through it feeding our fishery which is stocked with rainbow, brown and wild trout. The site is full of wildlife and a bird watchers paradise, kingfishers, otters and deer can often be seen on site. We have a breeding herd of Britain’s only all black pedigree Large Black pigs. Free range pork, eggs and award winning haggis are sold on site. Garlieston is the ideal place to spend a holiday or weekend break. Garlieston harbour is steeped in maritime history and is the birth place of the famous floating Mulberry Harbours and has an excellent slipway to launch from and enjoy the Wigtown Bay estuary. If you want to fish, cycle, ramble, bird watch, sight see or just chill out our site has it all.

This was my third visit this year to this site. As always a very warm welcome. My nephews and brother came to visit camping during my 3 weeks stay. Rusty stored all their camping equipment for me as I had brought it with me in my motorhome. I enjoyed feeding the pigs +got quite a soft spot for Bob ( PIG ) who always came to say hello when you pass just in case you had something tasty for him. The area is beautiful as is the site. With wonderful coastal walks 5 minutes walk. from the site. Or just sitting in the sun on the site reading and enjoying the views from the site and watching the local wildlife. I even managed to see the deer in the field on my last morning. The area is easily accessible by reliable dog friendly buses if like me you don't want to move the motorhome . The 2 local shops who can supply most things and will order things foryou and the post office is very handy. Then there is the Harbour inn. What a fab dog friendly pub, staff so friendly, they make you so welcome , excellent bitter , wonderful friendly locals and fabulous steak pie. If you want a relaxing holiday with clean facilities, site owners who say we don't have problems in garlieston and mean it, as they will do anything within reasons to help you and make your stay enjoyable then you must visit this site. But if you do visit, please don't buy up all the fantastic pork + haggis that the site sell because I want some left for my next visit (s)

We were Impressed the minute we drove through the gates. Rusty and Darren helped to unhitch the caravan facing a pond full of fish. Fabulous walks with Bracken our dog. The Harbour Inn friendliest pub we have been to in years. A Cosy atmosphere - rustic with big log fire. Locals were so friendly and Maggie and Laura looked after us well. Best of all a dog friendly and ours would not pass the door. Special thanks to Rusty Chris and Darren. We are now booked for September and Christmas and new year. Can't wait to get back
