Great site for couples
Top site for walking
Linger a while on this friendly campsite in southern Scotland.
Moffat will be closed from 18th January 2015 until 13th March 2015 due to site redevelopment works.
Moffat is our Club campsite in the Scottish lowlands. It’s an ideal stopping off point for journeys through Scotland. This pretty Victorian Spa town is just three minutes off the M74. But Moffat is much more than just a pit stop, its idyllic location more than warrants a longer stay.
The 180-pitch Moffat campsite boasts a fine setting in a wide valley surrounded by magnificent scenery. The well laid out site has a good range of well-placed facilities catering for all campers needs.
If you choose to linger a little longer in the area, the town of Moffat is a great place to start your exploration. Just a five minute walk from the campsite, the town boasts one of the broadest high streets in Scotland. Here you'll find the fountain topped by the statue of Colvin Ram, the famous Moffat Toffee Shop and the Star Hotel which appears in the Guinness Book of Records as the narrowest hotel in the world. Moffat also offers a variety of shopping including a weekly market on Fridays and a monthly producers market.
Nearby Station Park offers a variety of attractions including a boating lake and gardens. Next to the campsite the Hammerlands Centre has a garden centre, cafe and fishery.
The town holds an annual walking festival in October and from the campsite you can access some of the finest hilwalking in the south of Scotland. Also close by is the Grey Mares Tail, a magnificent waterfalldropping 200ft from Loch Skene.
There are also a number of historic houses and castles in the area. Drumlanrig Castle near Thornhill - Scotland’s oldest inhabited house - contains artwork by Rembrandt and Da Vinci and has wonderful landscaped gardens and woods. Medieval Caerlaverock Castle is located close to nearby Dumfries.

My wife took seriously ill on a break in august, even thought it was 2am the wardens John&
Alison came to our unit and stayed with us until the paramedics had left.John opened the shop and got the paramedics what was needed. They were so helpfull and nothing was a bother to them. They checked on my wife the next day as well and were so caring ,I would say they both went the extra mile for us both.Even though we had to cut our break short due to more episodes of illness with wardens like John & Alison around we would not hesitate to go back. Once again we would like to thank John & Alison for all their help

We visit this site regularly and always enjoy our stay.
There is easy access to the town and many lovely walks.
This visit we were slightly disappointed when the owners of a camper were allowed to pitch their awning on the grass between the hard standing pitches, meaning it was only 6-7 feet away from our caravan.
Rules should be applied fairly.
