We were warmly greeted and encouraged to ask for any help or advice we needed. This proved to be accurate as when we asked for a bucket one was provided almost immediately. The area is delightful and there are lovely walks through woodland and to little bays which are easily accessed from the site. The hard standing pitch included an area of grass which was as big again as the hard standing to ensure a sense of space around us. We were blessed with good weather which was great but we would certainly be happy to risk the Scottish climate again to visit this site.

We had Stand Up Paddle Boards and the bay is great for that. Walked boards down to the beach. The water is clear and beautiful. Tides can be strong. Paddled to Ross island and down towards Nun Mill bay. Also paddled at Rockcliff and Carrick is good too.

I made the mistake of coming here in Scottish school holidays with 3 groups of screaming kids playing on the adventure play ground. if you want peace and quiet come mid week when the kids will not be there. A sign of modern times using the playground from 8am till 2330hrs. The site wash area was kept clean and tidy but a dishes wash area would be appreciated. Owner friendly and helpful and full of local information. Close to all tourist attractions and beaches

A very nice site with some excellent views, the access can be a little daunting, its quite a long way round the estuary. We had booked for 4 nights but due to circumstances we only stayed for 2 nights. Castle Douglas is a busy town well worth a visit with good shops and a laundry where you can get your clothes washed and dried whilst you have a wander round the town. Have a look in the antique ?shop across the road from the laundry, I came home with some really lovely crystal at a very good price.
