Overview

Solway View, family run site set within Balmangan Farm, a 330-acre traditional working farm, rich in wildlife and beside the coast. Solway View is an ideal location to relax, unwind or a central base from which to explore Dumfries and Galloway region. Beautiful countryside surrounds you and is easily accessed through our farm & nature trails. Just a short walk from site, you can also visit the adjoining woodland and enjoy the tranquillity of the little secluded bay. Solway View is a great holiday location for individuals, couples, families and well-behaved groups. Pets are also very welcome. Many activities and things to see and do are nearby. We welcome caravans, motorhomes and tents. Also, if you have friends and family that wish to join you, we have wooden wigwam camping pods available for hire. We allow campfires and each pitch has a campfire area and picnic bench. We have very modern Shower/WC block with disabled access Facilities. Solar power provides the majority of hot water and the site electricity is generated by “Tina the Turner” our wee wind turbine. Solway View has been awarded a Gold Award and a Highly Commended Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

This is a Certificated Site (CS). A small campsite that accepts just five caravans or motorhomes. Some of these CS’s accept tents, space permitting. CSs are often quieter, smaller places to camp, with many offering minimal facilities – ideal for when you want to get away from it all.

Neil and Patricia were very welcoming to Solway View.

This review is for Solway View

Neil and Patricia were very welcoming to Solway View. Pitches are large and more than accommodated our caravan and awning. We loved it so much we went back again. The site is only a 5 mile journey to the Artist town of Kirkcudbright. Toilet and shower facilities are warm and very clean. Great area for walking our 3 furry weans. We will be back next season.

A lovely site with awesome views across the Solway, very secluded down a country road,a little hairy at times. Huge pitches with picnic bench and wood burned included, lovely dog walks around and a beautifull bay to run the dogs about 5 mins drive away at Brighouse. Easy access to A75 to tour around....overall excellent

Just returned a day early from this site.

This review is for Solway View

Just returned a day early from this site. It is a lovely clean site with huge pitches and the added benefit of camp fires. However, downside dogs must be kept on leads at all times which everyone did not adhere too despite informing the owners of this. Even the surrounding area dogs must be on leads and not all of the walks in the vicinity are dogs allowed. Most places nearby were not dog friendly and we had to travel at least 20 miles to give them a decent walk. The play park can get extremely noisy from early morning until late evening which I found those who's pitches were further away were oblivious to the high pitched screaming of their children.
