Handy for Poole, Bournemouth and the sandy beaches of the south coast.

The seaside resorts of the south coast and the beautiful New Forest are all within easy reach of our Verwood Club campsite. Situated around seven miles west of the New Forest, Verwood offers tranquil setting to camp.

The campsite, bordered by trees offers a mix of hardstanding and grass pitches. Its newly refurbished facilities include a family shower room and, a well-equipped washing up and laundry area. For younger campers there is a play area and a games room with snooker table and board games. Dogs and their owners will enjoy the wooded dog walk.

You won’t be short of things to do from this campsite. If you’re planning to explore the New Forest, head to Lyndhurst and the New Forest Centre and Museum. Two miles from here is the New Forest Reptile Centre where you could see all of Britain’s reptiles in one place. The forest more than caters for walkers and cyclists with miles of way-marked tracks.

Beaulieu National Motor Museum, Palace House and Abbey, Bucklers Hard and the spectacular Exbury Gardens are popular days out from the site. Families will particularly enjoy Splashdown Water Park, Paultons Family Theme Park and the Moors Valley Country Park (including Go Ape!).

We really enjoyed out stop at this site.

This review is for Verwood, New Forest

We really enjoyed out stop at this site. The facilities are excellent and there are plenty of activities for the kids including an indoor games room with pool, board games and a couple of arcade machines (50p a go). There are also plenty of outdoor games and a park. Whilst it is quite a large site, it never felt crowded, even in the middle of the summer holidays. The site wardens were really helpful throughout and very accommodating when it came to sighting our trailer tent. We don't usually go to sites more than once - we are trying to collect as many site flags as we can :-) But will definitely be back here next year as there is still so much we haven't done in the local area. This time round we did; The Tank Museum, Monkey World, Corfe Castle, Kingston Lacey (Stately home), Knoll Beach (Super clean and great for the kids), The Bournemouth Aquarium & Beach and of course the Forest.

Firstly we would like to thank everyone, staff and fellow camper and caravanners for helping secure everything when our awning decided to break free in the aftermath of the recent hurricane remnants. We were out for the day, came back dreading the worst but were so grateful for the help we received. Unfortunately, this help from the few was in remarkable contrast to the attitude of parents who think that it is perfectly fine to inflict their offspring's noise, bad behaviour and general obnoxiousness upon others who wish for only a peaceful holiday. We were pitched close to the playground and I do not recommend this. Despite children being cleared from there at dusk, some felt it was their right to return. The site has great facilities for children and so attracts some parents who wish to abdicate any responsibility for them. More responsible parents were as exasperated as we were by this minority that spoiled the atmosphere for the majority. Another problem with this site is that the major A roads are heavily congested every day and it does take the gloss off travelling to the many lovely places that in theory are close by in terms of mileage. The facilities were reasonably clean and the B road outside didn't pose any major noise problems because we couldn't hear it over the noise of the feral children. It is however, a road I would not recommend taking your children cycling upon. It's very busy. There are ample shopping etc facilities nearby and for emergencies the site shop is reasonably stocked. We will not be returning here, the first club site we've been to where we've felt this way. We like peace and quiet and this was sadly lacking. A busy summer site does not have to be noisy as Hereford proved this time last year. The rather all pervasive foul sewage smell that is present every day also needs to be dealt with.Apparently there are no sewage treatment works nearby so it must be a site problem. It is quite disgusting.

Heavy Horse Centre well worth the visit.

This review is for Verwood, New Forest

Heavy Horse Centre well worth the visit. Poor weather (Hurricane Bertha) meant we had to leave a day early. Feel uncomfortable saying this, but as our "friendly club" one member of staff was very grumpy and officious. However another member of staff was brilliant which balanced things up.
