The Purbeck Hills, award winning beaches and a castle make this a popular family site.

Our Club campsite at Corfe Castle lies at the foot of the Purbeck Hills, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and has close proximity to the Blue Flag award-winning Studland beach with four miles of glorious sand and bustling Swanage with its pretty beach huts.  Lulworth Cove and the iconic Durdle Dor on the Jurassic Coastline are a must!

The campsite has an abundance of wildlife from badgers, owls and pretty moths to beautiful wild flowers such as bluebells and orchids.  It’s also near to the Arne RSPB nature reserve making this a great spot for lovers of the outdoors.

You will find a beach if you walk in any direction from the campsite and nearby Coombe Bridge offers a marine reserve and snorkelling whilst Poole Harbour has watersports for the more adventurous!  A leisurely 15 minute walk from site finds you at Corfe Castle, a stunning ruin from the English Civil War whose iconic silhouette can be seen from miles around. The pretty grey stone village of Corfe Castle lies in the shadow of the romantic castle ruins. Around its square is a cluster of tearooms, trinket shops and pubs.

Our family-friendly campsite offers a mix of hardstanding and grass pitches, some of pitches are under trees. There’s an on-site shop with fresh bread and newspapers delivered daily, a family shower room and wet room for disabled visitors.

Please use the downloadable map available here, rather than satnav to ensure you access the site via A351.

Motorhomes must be booked onto hardstandings.

Corfe Castle currently holds an AA 4 Pennant Award.

Access and SatNav Advice

Boat owners please be aware there is an additional pitch fee policy. The site has level hardstandings, levellers may be required for grass pitches. Some pitches are under trees. TV reception can be poor.

Eat Local

We received the usual warm and efficient welcome even though 5 other customers arrived simultaneously. The access lane is very narrow and awkward if someone leaves at the same time you arrive. The site is hilly but beautifully situated, surrounded by trees. We were very grateful, being 'oldies' that we were allocated a hard-standing in the quieter corner at the top of the site. As mentioned by others though the access is a tad tricky with some sudden slopes and loose gravel. The tent area is quite lively with young families although there was no untoward noise after hours. The walk to Corfe Castle is well worth the effort but not for the unfit, particularly on the way back. All facilities were very well maintained. This would be a nice site for a quieter visit out of school holiday time. In a tourist area like this there are bound to be many families in August in particular. There is much to see in the area. Swanage is nice, the steam railway is popular and of course there is the castle which is run by the National Trust.

Everyone at Corfe Castle are very helpful and friendly.

Everyone at Corfe Castle are very helpful and friendly. The site is quiet, beautiful and sheltered. Great attention is paid to making the site as visitor and wildlife friendly as possible. We were delighted to hear owls and see many other birds around the site. The hard standing pitches for motorhomes or caravans are bordered by hedges or other barriers making them private and sheltered. There is ample space on each plot and these are laid out in different areas rather than one big field which adds to the feeling of space. As National Trust members we were delighted at the free to member car parks situated around the area as well as the delightful Brownsea Island; Corfe Castle and beautiful beaches to explore. We would wholeheartedly recommend this site for its own sake and its fantastic location.

We always find something new in the area and of course love the local pubs in Corfe that are walkable from the site. The Sandbanks ferry is just down the road. You have Knoll beach which is a must and Sandbanks beach which we think cannot be bettered anywhere in the world. We have became friendly with the site managers and it's lovely to know they are there whenever we go.

To stock up on supplies, you need to visit Wareham, there is only a village shop in Corfe.

This review is for Corfe Castle

To stock up on supplies, you need to visit Wareham, there is only a village shop in Corfe. The site shop has basic supplies and they can order bread, papers etc in for you. The pub meals in Corfe are nice, but pricey. The Dorset Water Park nearby was good value and a nice setting for spectators too. Traffic through Corfe is a nightmare, avoid peak commuting time (good excuse to stop off at the pub after the beach!). The 1pm check-in should be observed because the approach lane is single track with no passing places and there is only very limited parking / manouvering space on the site. This information should be included in the confirmation email to deter people from coming early and meeting those checking out on the lane.
