The sandy beaches of Charmouth make this a popular family site.

Our pretty Charmouth Club campsite is perfectly located for exploring Dorset’s stunning Jurrasic coast and many popular resorts including Lyme Regis and Beer to the west and West Bay and Weymouth to the east.

Surrounded by rolling hills, this well-maintained campsite offers spacious pitches in small clusters bordered by trees and bushes. As well as the expected toilet and shower facilities, the campsite boasts a laundry, a well-stocked shop, children’s play area and dog walk.

If fossil hunting is on your holiday to do list, visit the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre for information. The beach here is a good place to start your hunt for fossils or head east from the campsite to the famous Chesil Beach.

For days out the beautiful Forde Abbey and gardens at Chard is a must. Abbotsbury Swannery is ideal for children or for something different, enjoy the stunning Axe Valley from the Seaton Tramway’s hot pink narrow gauge tram.

We have visited this site many times over the years and now store our caravan here. It has excellent friendly and helpful reception staff where nothing is too much trouble. The site is always being improved every year, always clean and has pretty landscaped areas and a great dog walk. Catering vans visit up to 3 evenings a week selling a variety of good cooked food. It is great for visiting beautiful Lyme Regis, unspoilt Charmouth, busy but interesting West Bay, the Victorian charm of Sidmouth, and the not-to-be-missed Donkey Sanctuary with it's memorable residents (and lovely cream teas). Inland, Sherborne is well worth a visit, as is the Fleet Air Arm Museum and Haynes Motoring Museum.

Arrived at site and was allocated a numbered grass pitch (we had booked a grass pitch) We decided that the pitch was too much on a slope to erect our awning, so walked around the site and found a perfect hard standing. We went back to the office and asked if we could move, the warden was very accommodating, so we paid the extra and moved. The site was very pleasant but I have two big criticisms, the shower blocks had no heat on so we found them very draughty and cold, not very pleasant first thing in the morning. My partners daughter and her 2 month old baby were stopping with us, so it was not good washing a baby with no heat on. The other thing was on our last day I went to have a shower and tried 3 cubicles to find some hot water. When I went to reception to advise them they said the boiler was down and we would have to use the other shower block, why on earth didn't they put a notice on the entrance.
