The sandy beaches of Charmouth make this a popular family site.

Our pretty Charmouth Club campsite is perfectly located for exploring Dorset’s stunning Jurrasic coast and many popular resorts including Lyme Regis and Beer to the west and West Bay and Weymouth to the east.

Surrounded by rolling hills, this well-maintained campsite offers spacious pitches in small clusters bordered by trees and bushes. As well as the expected toilet and shower facilities, the campsite boasts a laundry, a well-stocked shop, children’s play area and dog walk.

If fossil hunting is on your holiday to do list, visit the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre for information. The beach here is a good place to start your hunt for fossils or head east from the campsite to the famous Chesil Beach.

For days out the beautiful Forde Abbey and gardens at Chard is a must. Abbotsbury Swannery is ideal for children or for something different, enjoy the stunning Axe Valley from the Seaton Tramway’s hot pink narrow gauge tram.

This is a lovely well kept site but to get about you do need to drive everywhere as it is on a quiet back road. Parking all over is very cheap and loads of it. Lyme Regis is a lovely unspoiled coastal town with the best Fudge in the land, some great shops and lovely cafes. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on the main beach between April and October but you can find some small coves and beaches that dogs are allowed. We had a lovely relaxing time. Oh and the sausages in the site shop were amazing.

No walks directly off site and public transport over a mile away. Felt nearer Axminster. Luckily we had a car with us this time as would have struggled. Not enough facilities for size of site and not the cleanest. Some areas of hardstanding felt more like an overflow car park. Dogs on leads ignored and ignored by staff if seen. We have a dog but appreciate not everyone likes them. Sadly not a site for us and would book elsewhere as area is lovely.

We had a problem whilst here and the manager and his wife couldn't have been more helpful in resolving the issue. They even lent me a pump to blow up a flat bicycle tyre!

The site needs more toilets and showers as the block nearest to us had only two showers and four toilets, and although needing an update was kept clean and tidy. There is another newer slightly larger block by reception again clean and tidy. I would like to see dog hooks near the toilets as there is nowhere to secure your dog, and this is an issue on every site I have been on. Be aware there is no wi fi, and even when you spend 10 to acquire it the signal is poor, and the three days we purchased was a very short two and a half days. Parking in the local area is surprisingly reasonable two pounds all day, and dog friendly beaches not that far away. I must say thank you to ' Harry' who not only told me where I could run my dogs off their leads, but turned up later having printed off a map and directions to a walk which was a five minute drive down the road. He also printed off all the dog friendly beaches in the area which I found really useful.
