Easy to find & obvious entry to pitch area.

This review is for True Lovers Knot

Easy to find & obvious entry to pitch area. Seem to be two permanent vans on the site, we were left to find out own pitch & not given any instructions or information. Pitches are on a slight slope & adjoin a gravel car park for the pub. The B road running by the pub is busy & quite noisy. Separate toilet & shower block with one of each with keycode entry, however these were broken & doors left unlocked. Toilet door had no lock from inside as it was ripped off! Also no toilet paper. Shower could do with a good clean. Wouldn't go back there again.

First thing you notice is the welcome, brilliant, couldn't be warmer, second thing the peaceful location. Nice pitch just off the pub car park, good facilities if a bit tatty, a great place to stay. The pub is Dog friendly and they also have rooms to let so great when travelling with others. A few minutes off a fast trunk road so great for connecting to the west country, dorset coast etc. A bonus is if you eat and drink in the pub then there is a 15% discount, which in my case amounted to 5.00 off the cost of my stay. Highly recommended.

Stayed for two nights over this past weekend but can't say that this site is suitable for tents. The site itself is just so barren of atmosphere or facilities. There is a flushing toilet and a separate shower room, both of which have key coded doors. This is fine but in the middle of the night there is no lights around the shower room/toilet block and trying the shine torch to key in codes is a nightmare. Also I thought to make it more suitable for campers, the shower room could have had a sink because if you had a shower you had to come out of the shower room, rekey in a code for the toilet room to brush your teeth. Also there is no washing up facilities. However, the pub itself is very friendly, the staff were very very kind to us, we had four dogs with us and they welcomed us with open arms. The food was varied and the prices okay.

Made to feel very welcome by the landlord. Very relaxed attitude to everything.

Made to feel very welcome by the landlord. Very relaxed attitude to everything. Toilet and shower could do with a lick of paint maybe but they were clean and most of the time empty. Would feel at ease if there was a sign on the door to say when the shower or toilet is in use, nothing worse than someone trying to get in when you are in there, some people ignore calls that you are in there and continue to yank on the door. You get a key for access to them and the dryer/washing machine which then gives a discount at the bar when shown. There was also some animals for the kids to see, a pub playground and a field full of cows next door. Lots to see and do in 10 mile radius, we went to an airfield 7 miles away which had a great cafe/bar and views. We will return in 2013.
