We stayed here for two nights, it was our very 1st caravan holiday we were new to the whole experience with our two young children and was helped throughout by very friendly staff.(even to park and set up) toilet/shower blocks were very clean and its a well looked after park. The area is lovely and close to horses and cows and lovely walks with our dog. Thank you for having us we will definitely be back x

This was our maiden outing in our motorhome and the staff were very welcoming and happy to help us with a technical problem and very obliging in the shop. Being a midweek trip we found it very peaceful on site with direct access to the forest for walking but close to coast (we visited high cliff castle and took a boat trip from mudeford). Facilities were very clean. Will definitely return.

This review is for Holmsley - New Forest

I first stayed at Holmesly as a teenager in the 1970's, returning several times over the years; the last time was in the mid 1980's but I shall be going again this August. I can't help but laugh when I read the negative reviews on here; it just goes to show how society has changed over the years! If you want all the comforts of home, complete with microwave, TV, hairdryer etc, then I suggest you may be taking your 'holidays' the wrong way? Yes, this site is situated on the periphery of an old airfield (my father taught me to drive here in 1976...) and as such could be described as 'basic' but for me that is half the attraction; I will never understand those who all want to pitch as close to the toilet block as possible? I always find a pitch I like, and if I have to walk a hundred yards to the toilet/shower block, then it is what it is! For me, camping is still what it was when I was a child; you turn up, pitch your tent, check out the (limited) facilities, buy some basic provisions from the site shop, then plan the rest of the week visiting Bournemouth, Christchurch, Barton and Milford-on-Sea, any one of a myriad of New Forest pubs, endless walks across the Forest (beginning from the moment you zip up your tent), etc... ...I love camping, and I love Holmesly; if you are not obsessed with keeping up with your Soaps or the scourge that is 'reality TV' then so will you!
