Camping near the lovely moors and beaches of North Devon.

Our Umberleigh Club campsite in the Taw Valley is surrounded by rolling hills and meadows and is close to the moors and beaches of north Devon.

This peaceful family-friendly site enjoys a rural location with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Facilities on site include clean, well maintained toilets and showers, a children’s play area, games room with infant's play area, skittles, table tennis table, table football and pool. There is a TV lounge, fishing pool and dog walk. There are also two tennis courts for hire, with free tennis coaching for children during school holidays.

A quarter of a mile from the campsite is the village of Umberleigh. Here you will find an art gallery, an antique shop and a local pub. Umberleigh is also one of the stations on the picturesque Tarka Line which runs between Barnstaple and Exeter.

For clean, sandy beaches and surfing head to Westward Ho, Saunton, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe and for family days out there’s the factory outlet Atlantic Village and Atlantis Adventure Park, Bideford, The Milky Way, The Big Sheep and the Quince Honey Farm.

We had a very relaxing time. Met loads of like minded friendly people.

We had a very relaxing time. Met loads of like minded friendly people. Our dogs just loved the dog walking facility especially being allowed to walk off lead. Made the holiday for us. We had difficulty finding the site and had to do 20 miles round trip to turn around. As we approached the site there was a camping sign but to a CC sign which would have helped us. The post code covered a large area. This did not spoil our visit and we will be back.

Ron and Jo are wonderful site wardens, full of information, cheerful and happy to help. The site is surrounded by countryside yet not far from North Devon's lovely beaches. Barnstaple is a short distance with a good and varied choice of shops and supermarkets. Tuesday night fish and chips on the site are excellent. We have plans to be back several times before the season ends.

A great site for accessing both the North Devon interior and coast.

A great site for accessing both the North Devon interior and coast. During my trip I spent most of my time visiting family in Barnstaple (15-20 minute easy drive) but spent the evenings enjoying the calm atmosphere of the spacious site. Highly recommended for a visit.

This was our first caravanning experience and we picked this site because it had everything we might need should ours not work properly. We also brought our two dogs and wanted a dog friendly site which this most definitely is, with a large field which you can walk them in. The wardens even carry dog biscuits for them. As you are only 8 miles from Barnstaple it is easy to go into town should you need anything, such as a visit to B & Q for screws! The facilities are spotlessly clean, we used the toilets and showers which had everything you could need, even a hairdryer, and the grounds are immaculate. The wardens in charge are friendly and approachable. We will have no hesitation in recommending this to others.
