Camping near the lovely moors and beaches of North Devon.

Our Umberleigh Club campsite in the Taw Valley is surrounded by rolling hills and meadows and is close to the moors and beaches of north Devon.

This peaceful family-friendly site enjoys a rural location with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Facilities on site include clean, well maintained toilets and showers, a children’s play area, games room with infant's play area, skittles, table tennis table, table football and pool. There is a TV lounge, fishing pool and dog walk. There are also two tennis courts for hire, with free tennis coaching for children during school holidays.

A quarter of a mile from the campsite is the village of Umberleigh. Here you will find an art gallery, an antique shop and a local pub. Umberleigh is also one of the stations on the picturesque Tarka Line which runs between Barnstaple and Exeter.

For clean, sandy beaches and surfing head to Westward Ho, Saunton, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe and for family days out there’s the factory outlet Atlantic Village and Atlantis Adventure Park, Bideford, The Milky Way, The Big Sheep and the Quince Honey Farm.

We have been in Summer Storage at Umberleigh now since March and cannot speak highly enough of both the location of the site (with beautiful sunsets and westerley views), cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities. Trish and Richard always did their utmost to assist us whenever we needed help. I would rate the site as A1 (if the rating criteria would allow) and both of them as superb ambassadors for the club.

This was our second visit this year to Umberleigh. It was fantastic. Richard and Trish work so hard to make everyone's stay perfect. The attention to detail and cleanliness can't be faulted. They are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The flowers on site looked beautiful. Fish and Chip night on tuesdays was great success. We took the train to Barnstaple and got the bus back all easy and straightforward. Also lovely golf courses nearby all welcoming and friendly. lovely dinner at the Rising Sun. We will definitely be returning again!

Fabulous site for adults & children alike.

Fabulous site for adults & children alike. Bernie was THE friendliest man you could ask for, even brought flowers for our friends birthday. Central to great beaches, the play barn was welcome on rainy evenings (and for hubby watching football) Would definitely return, thank you for a wonderful 8 days

We stayed in Umberleigh in August 2013 and cannot recommend the site highly enough. The wardens, Trish, Richard and Bernie are just the most lovely people you could ever wish to meet, Nothing was ever too much trouble and they were always around with a cheery greeting. I can't thank them enough. There's loads to do in the area too from walking, cycling and fishing to visiting the local towns and beaches. The site was always kept to a very high standard and has a small shop for essentials. The fish and chip van which comes to the site on Tuesday night is just fab. We all had a fantastic holiday and will certainly return next year. Many, many thanks.
