A proper little gem of a campsite. Very quiet with some spectacular views.

This review is for Prickly Ball Farm

A proper little gem of a campsite. Very quiet with some spectacular views. The farm has some interesting stuff for the kids. We shall return. The site has a narrow road access, which causes some locals to be a little impatient, particularly if you have a large unit and towing a trailer/Caravan. (The Summer Pest Syndrome). Otherwise, no problems whatsoever. On site there are toilets and showers and a small shop that sells some fresh produce and emergency supplies. There is a farm on site with small animals and a petting section. Also a Hedgehog hospital and well worth spending some time. There is also a little cafe, where we had a splendid breakfast but didn't get the opportunity to try out The Fish and Chip night on Fridays. Maybe next time. Newton Abbott is within easy reach and a Sainsbury's at the bottom of the hill, just outside the town centre. We also travelled into Torquay, which is only 5 miles away and if you follow the back roads, you don't join the other travellers in the mad rush for the beach. All tourist facilities are within easy reach, including the Steam Railways, which are well with a visit. All in all, a terrific little site which is out of the way, but good for a central base and visits from the site. Lovely people who are friendly and chatty and helpful if you need it. We were made to feel very welcome and Nothing was too much trouble. Recommended with all the bells and whistles. Thanks for lovely, quiet and peaceful weekend. See you again soon. This is one of the best CS sites we've discovered and especially well suited for families.

This review is for Prickly Ball Farm

This is one of the best CS sites we've discovered and especially well suited for families. Although a little steep to reach hard standing not a problem for our motorhome but well worth it when you're there. Incredibly friendly, very open and welcoming with the farm attractions being a very positive feature. If you've got children and you're staying in Devon you'd be mad not to try here!

This site is a brilliant site to site on.

This review is for Prickly Ball Farm

This site is a brilliant site to site on. If you want peace and quiet with lovely views, then this is the site for you. This site has a small farm with a hedgehog hospital as well. They have donkey, ponies, chickens, pigs, goates, alpacas and other small animals. If you have a family your children will love it looking around the farm, and if you stay on site you can go in when you like (within times). The views are lovely looking over Newton Abbot and further. The toilets are big, clean and tidy with male and female separate which both have toilets and a shower in each. Separate area for tents to wash up. The only thing i would suggest is the grey water container need to be sink into the decking making emtpying easier of caravan wheel water containers. All pitches for caravans are very close to water and eletric hookup. The people who run this site are very friendly, talkative and help you if needed. The pitch where we was, was level and on hard standing which suited us as our caravan is a twin axle weighing 2ton. We enjoyed staying at this site so much my wife wanted to stay here for ever. We will visit this site again in the near future. Thank you to the site owners for a lovely site and stay.

Possibly the best certified site we have stayed on. The setting is lovely.

Possibly the best certified site we have stayed on. The setting is lovely. The access to the wildlife centre is brilliant for young children. The owners are friendly and helpful. The pitches are level. The site is clean, tidy and well arranged. The beaches of south Devon from Paignton to Dawlish are within easy reach, and Newton Abbot has a very good shopping centre. Reaching the site is easy with dual carriageway to the outskirts of Newton Abbot and good signage first to Totnes then to Prickly Ball Farm. There is only one pitch suitable for trailer tents (i.e vehicular access and grass pitch) but there are more if you can use a hard-standing (cinder/gravel). The four purely tent pitches don't have vehicular access but the car park has reserved places close to the pitches with just a short uphill path to them.
