The welcome, after a long drive is what we humans need, and this lady knows it.

The welcome, after a long drive is what we humans need, and this lady knows it. A cup of tea and some words of reassurance gave us a five star start to our holiday. Maps, walks, bus timetables, etc are provided upon arrival. Lynton is a quaint village, and Lynmouth is the highlight. Steep hills, windy nights with loads of rain made our stay very dramatic and out of the norm for us. We loved it here and will return. The lady in reception, sorry I forgot your name, is responsible for placing this campsite on the map, thank you.

This was our fifth annual visit and is on our list of places to visit every year.

This was our fifth annual visit and is on our list of places to visit every year. All the beauty of Exmoor on the doorstep and the lovely North Devon coast as well. Although the facilities are dated they are spotlessly clean and plenty of hot water for a shower. Nat and Mark seem to always be on the go and the site is a credit to their hard work. Will certainly be back next year. Just wish the site opened a month earlier and closed a month later so we could enjoy early spring and later autumn on Exmoor.

Set in the lovely countryside of North Devon.

This review is for Lynton

Set in the lovely countryside of North Devon. The site is over a couple of fields with good grass which is mainly slightly sloping. Very friendly welcome. Offered local maps which we used and help us tremendously with our walks. There are plenty of electric hook-ups even on the second field. Views of the sea were just possible from the top of the second field and there are some beautiful sunsets. There is a small children's playground and a separate field for games and walking dogs which has lovely views over the countryside. Toilets are not too far away from anywhere on the site. Although the toilets were always clean and had everything you need, they are a bit dated. Walks on Exmore, Cycling, Coast, towns of Lynton and Lynmouth all within a few miles drive. The first day we walked down a country lane to Lynton. This is a lovely little town and has access to Lynmouth by a vehicular railway. We got a bus back from Lynton as we could not face the steep hill climb back to the campsite. A few miles down the road is a narrow steam railway. At the moment this is only a mile stretch of track but a ticket lets you ride all day. Has a tea room at the old station. Main supermarkets with petrol are at Barnstable. Cycling along the Tarka trail is flat and wide, suitable for family cycling and has nice views and cafes along its route. The beaches of Croyde and its neighbouring beaches have vast lengths of lovely sand. National Trust land for walking is plentiful but as this is Devon expect to walk the hills. The walk from NT Waters Meet and along the coast to Lynmouth and back up the river is breath-taking. There is a NT house not too far from the camp site. We had a lovely 11 days of mixed walking, cycling, relaxing on the sand beaches and site seeing. We would recommend this site.

Site on top of a hill so it can get rather windy. Facilities are in good order, clean and warm. There was a children's play area and a large field for exercising the dog. Sea views. Steep walk down to Lynton and Lynmouth but you can drive and there is also a cliff train to and from Lynton to Lynmouth. Staff were very welcoming and knowlable about the area.
