A family site with seaviews and sandy and shingle beaches within walking distance.

Our Slapton Sands Club campsite has all the ingredients for the perfect family beach holiday. Located on the stunning South Devon Heritage Coast, our Slapton Sands campsite commands a quiet, rural setting. Lined by trees and flanked by rolling countryside, this is the place to sit back and enjoy the views - some pitches enjoy fabulous views over the bay.

The campsite is level and well set out with some hardstandings and plenty of grass pitches. There is a children’s play area, a parent and child room, washing up facilities and a short dog walk and the small on-site shop provides the basics.

Off-site there are plenty of coastal walks to enjoy including to Beesands and Hallsands. Slapton beach is a few minutes’ walk from the campsite. The shingle beach and clean, calm sea are ideal for families (dogs are welcome too) and water sport enthusiasts can enjoy surfing, windsurfing and canoeing.

The freshwater lagoon Slapton Ley is separated from the sea by Slapton beach and is set within a National Nature Reserve. The area is teeming with bird and wildlife. There are many walks and trails around the reserve.

To the north of Slapton Sands, the Blue Flag Award-winning Blackpool Sands awaits. Backed byevergreens and scented pines, this stretch of golden sands has a real mediterranean feel.

A bus stop a quarter of a mile from the campsite is on routes to Plymouth, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. The latter is a wonderful medieval town with a lovely harbour, perfect for crabbing, and a castle.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Beautifully located site with sea and country views.

This review is for Slapton Sands

Beautifully located site with sea and country views. The welcome we received from the staff on arrival as tourers with no booking couldn't have been better; stayed an extra night it was so pleasant. Well maintained and staff very happy to chat and provide information on the site and surrounding area. Plenty of towel hooks in the washrooms, the frequent paucity of which on other sites is a 'pet gripe'. Short walk into Slapton Village which is charming with two contrasting pubs serving good food. The walk along Slapton Sands and around the nature reserve is lovely. For the best views of the coastline and coves, take the double-decker bus from Slapton to Dartmouth. You can get a weekly ticket for 13 that will take you between Dartmouth and Plymouth via Slapton and Kingsbridge. Do follow the handbook directions for arrival as described not the sat nav as even the A Roads in the South Hams are quite challenging for a large unit.

Travelled with motorhome weekend before Easter via recommended route Kingsbridge to Torcross...

This review is for Slapton Sands

Travelled with motorhome weekend before Easter via recommended route Kingsbridge to Torcross but even so there are 4 or 5 narrow villages to go through even though an A road, luckily the narrow bits are not too long, but would chose time to travel during peak school holidays. Ideal for dogs with plenty of dog walks nearby and ample bins provided. Slapton village is just 5 mins walk to a general store and papers. 2 pubs in the village, we went to the Towers Inn one evening which is a gastro pub, food excellent but quite pricey, other pub is the Queens Arms more basic home cooked food & very friendly. Recommend booking as both pubs get v busy. All in all a lovely 2 day break made even better by the unexpected unseasonably warm weather and sunshine. Didn't even need the heater on in the van overnight!

I've been coming here since i was a little girl.

This review is for Slapton Sands

I've been coming here since i was a little girl. This summer will be my 14th year here, and I can't wait to chat to other happy campers. Staff are fantastic: they are attentive, and the site is always clean, with no litter in sight! There's a village a few minutes away where you can buy provisions, and pubs and restaurants too for delicious evening meals. Beautiful location, many happy campers, great cream teas in Torcross.

Really friendly welcome, a beautifully located and peaceful site overlooking the sea. Very well maintained. Proper local village pub a short stroll away. A great site. Good bus connections if you are walking the coastal path. Heed the advice not to follow your sat nav.
