A family site with seaviews and sandy and shingle beaches within walking distance.

Our Slapton Sands Club campsite has all the ingredients for the perfect family beach holiday. Located on the stunning South Devon Heritage Coast, our Slapton Sands campsite commands a quiet, rural setting. Lined by trees and flanked by rolling countryside, this is the place to sit back and enjoy the views - some pitches enjoy fabulous views over the bay.

The campsite is level and well set out with some hardstandings and plenty of grass pitches. There is a children’s play area, a parent and child room, washing up facilities and a short dog walk and the small on-site shop provides the basics.

Off-site there are plenty of coastal walks to enjoy including to Beesands and Hallsands. Slapton beach is a few minutes’ walk from the campsite. The shingle beach and clean, calm sea are ideal for families (dogs are welcome too) and water sport enthusiasts can enjoy surfing, windsurfing and canoeing.

The freshwater lagoon Slapton Ley is separated from the sea by Slapton beach and is set within a National Nature Reserve. The area is teeming with bird and wildlife. There are many walks and trails around the reserve.

To the north of Slapton Sands, the Blue Flag Award-winning Blackpool Sands awaits. Backed byevergreens and scented pines, this stretch of golden sands has a real mediterranean feel.

A bus stop a quarter of a mile from the campsite is on routes to Plymouth, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. The latter is a wonderful medieval town with a lovely harbour, perfect for crabbing, and a castle.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Good bus service (I didn't use car all week).

This review is for Slapton Sands

Good bus service (I didn't use car all week). Close to beach and village - and I'm lazy so it's close! Close enough to Kingsbridge or Dartmouth if you want a change. Steam railway and river or sea trips from Dartmouth a must although i didn't enjoy Paignton (at end of railway) but that's my preference as it's too busy for me. Pubs in village are dog friendly and the Queens Arms very friendly pub - I didn't get as far as The Tower! Both do food. Fish & Chip Van on saturday pm. The Frogmore bakery van each morning (mon to fri) is worth the visit alone! They have bread of all sorts (the seeded baps are to die for) croissants, Danish, pasties and donuts among other things -Delicious! There is a wildlife area and the Lake which I didn't get round to I'm afraid and the church looked interesting too but I didn't make that either. Next time ...

Ladies shower block was very busy, but adequate, however my husband said the mens shower block did not have enough showers, toilets or wash cubicles - so pot luck and come back later. Bakery has a van visit site, please Q from 8.45am otherwise, she's sold out by 9am. Beautiful views, 5 min walk to sea, uphill on way back! As a tent camper, it was real pleasure that the site is predominantly tents and RV, only 8 caravans allowed. Makes a change. V clean and tidy for such a busy site. I would rate this site up there with Isle of Skye site.

The site is a short walk from historic (although difficult to walk on!) Slapton Sands. It's a short drive to beautiful Blackpool Sands, which has a great cafe and the stunning town of Dartmouth. We were extremely lucky with the weather and waking up to the do styling sea was delightful.

What a fabulous CCC welcome and pleasant start to our holiday.

This review is for Slapton Sands

What a fabulous CCC welcome and pleasant start to our holiday. The HSMs worked so hard to ensure everyone had a good holiday and nothing was too much trouble, from sensible and considerate pitching, through to constant attention to detail in maintaining site standards. It was reassuring that the HSMs ensured that site rules were adhered to, with sensible compromises and without affecting enjoyment for all on site. Excellent move in eliminating dustbins at water points and campers taking responsibility for taking rubbish to the bin at the gate. Whilst there are too few showers for busy times, they were always exceptionally clean, and my only concern is that as we were leaving at the start of the school holidays the annual 'kids cycling around the toilet blocks' had started, ...but I'm confident this would have been dealt with by the HSMs.
