A family site with seaviews and sandy and shingle beaches within walking distance.

Our Slapton Sands Club campsite has all the ingredients for the perfect family beach holiday. Located on the stunning South Devon Heritage Coast, our Slapton Sands campsite commands a quiet, rural setting. Lined by trees and flanked by rolling countryside, this is the place to sit back and enjoy the views - some pitches enjoy fabulous views over the bay.

The campsite is level and well set out with some hardstandings and plenty of grass pitches. There is a children’s play area, a parent and child room, washing up facilities and a short dog walk and the small on-site shop provides the basics.

Off-site there are plenty of coastal walks to enjoy including to Beesands and Hallsands. Slapton beach is a few minutes’ walk from the campsite. The shingle beach and clean, calm sea are ideal for families (dogs are welcome too) and water sport enthusiasts can enjoy surfing, windsurfing and canoeing.

The freshwater lagoon Slapton Ley is separated from the sea by Slapton beach and is set within a National Nature Reserve. The area is teeming with bird and wildlife. There are many walks and trails around the reserve.

To the north of Slapton Sands, the Blue Flag Award-winning Blackpool Sands awaits. Backed byevergreens and scented pines, this stretch of golden sands has a real mediterranean feel.

A bus stop a quarter of a mile from the campsite is on routes to Plymouth, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. The latter is a wonderful medieval town with a lovely harbour, perfect for crabbing, and a castle.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Nice villages all around the area, we enjoyed our visits to Brixham, Dartmouth and Salcombe.

Nice villages all around the area, we enjoyed our visits to Brixham, Dartmouth and Salcombe. we meant to try the steam train from Dartmouth to Torquay but didn't have time to fit it in. It was worth using the park and ride in Dartmouth. Spent an afternoon in Totnes, once again a nice town and some lovely little shops.

Dartmouth beautifulwith good range of shopping and eating.

Dartmouth beautifulwith good range of shopping and eating. Would recommend Dart to Mouth cafe in old market as a wonderful place to eat local, fresh food. Don't drive to Slapton! Whatever you do, even if it look like a fun idea, the roads are extremely narrow, twisty with other traffic. It is beautiful but an easy walk from the site so don't bother taking the car.

Good site for visiting other places.

This review is for Slapton Sands

Good site for visiting other places. Good bus route to Dartmouth with connections to Paignton, Torquay and beyond. Site is a wondy site so bring good guy ropes and pegs for hard surfaces. Fish and chips and visiting bakery provide excellent food. The village of Slapton is lovely but too narrow for vehicles. Ignore the SAT NAV and come via Kingsbridge. Bus route also goes to Kingsbridge and Plymouth. Lovely cycle route along Slapton front and decent beach. Good cafes at Torcross. All in all good site. More camping re tents availability than hard standing for caravans and motorhomes so book in early if you require hard standing. We stayed July27th - 30th 2017, not above date of July 17the

Central booking made our booking for 2018 instead of 2017 by mistake and failed to send confirmation email On arrival there was therefore no pitch reserved However the management found us a grass pitch( we had requested hard standing) It also cost us more than quoted by head office and although we we very pleased with the site's response to our dilemma we are not impressed by central booking and will avoid this method in future.
