    Top site for beaches

Our lovely Club Site on the south Devon coast.

The South Hams offers a wonderful mix of coast, moorland and rolling hills and a range of activities to match from walking and cycling to sailing and surfing. For history lovers there are delights such as Totnes Castle and The South Devon Railway, while a range of arts and food festivals and sailing regattas will keep culture-vultures happy.

Where better to base yourself to enjoy these delights than at our lovely Dartmouth Club campsite. Aptly named as the attractive harbour town is just a five minute drive away, the site offer campers stunning sea views over Start Bay. Spacious pitches, a large camping field and family shower room are among the facilities on offer.

There are beaches aplenty - Blackpool Sands is within walking distance – Slapton Sands, Torcross, Beesand Beach and Hall Sands are a short drive away.

Also easily accessed are Totnes, Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. At the latter cross the River Dart to the pretty village of Kingswear and hop on board the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway for a ride along the Torbay coast. While on this side of the river, Greenway is a magical place to explore. Once the holiday home of Agatha Christie it is now managed by the National Trust.

If you'd like to go glamping then Dartmouth Ready Camp is the perfect choice. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

We were disappointed for these reasons: 1.

This review is for Dartmouth

We were disappointed for these reasons: 1. The pitch we were allocated was very cramped, it felt like there were cars and caravans everywhere! Definitely not the 6m advertised between pitches. :( 2. The site is next to a very busy road. 3. There are only 5 female and 5 mens showers. For 90 pitches plus a huge field for tents, this is simply not enough? 4. Although the website says that ice packs can be re-frozen, this facility is not available. We didn't bring the icytek specifically because we thought we could re-freeze. 5. The pub next to the camp site is now closed, and is a bit of an eyesore, and very unkempt. 6. There were a LOT of dogs, who were very vocal (every time someone went past their plot) Whilst this is not necessarily the sites fault, it was not great. Some of the plots had 3 dogs each too, which is bound to cause noise!! 7. Both tumble driers were out of order :( The views at the site are great, and if there was more space around the pitches (especially in the 2nd field which was grass piches only) then it would have been a much more enjoyable stay. We felt they have just cramped them in. I don't think we would return :(

A fabulous friendly site on a beautiful stretch of the Devon coastline.

This review is for Dartmouth

A fabulous friendly site on a beautiful stretch of the Devon coastline. There is a bus stop right outside the entrance to the site so towns, villages and beaches easily reached. Beaches are beautiful and there are miles of the South West Costal Path to walk. Dartmouth is about 4 miles away and the walk is worth the effort for the views and the town itself. Definitely going back.
