We went out of season and only eight other groups there in total, facilities may get a little crowded during peak season. Nicely laid out sites with level pitches, ours having great views. Only grumble was with the water saving measures, 10seconds of water per button press was a pain, we gave up on the showers and used our own. chemical toilet washout hosepipe dribbled at best. Some great walks nearby and Dovedale/Ilam are well worth a visit. Can see us returning one day

Most friendly welcome by name with the warden physically helping us to pitch up on our chosen pitch. Exemplary! Spotless facilities, good, well drained hardstanding and reasonably quiet despite the proximity to the road. We loved this site. Only excitement was when I went to get water one morning and found a dog sitting on the water point drain and tethered to the tap support post. The owner arrived a few seconds later to announce he was going to " give him a hose down" and proceeded to do just that. When I suggested that a drinking water point was perhaps not the best place to do this he took exception asking "where else can I do it?" Do all dog owners use drinking water points for this?

“A friendly and peaceful site, the showers and toilets are spotless and Ashbourne is only a 5 min drive away. There is a dog walk and even though it is a short walk its a peaceful walk first thing in the morning listening to the many birds attracted to the site due to the conservation being carried out. We would definitely use this site again for a peaceful short break. One tip don't follow sat nav.”
