A simple but perfect site for a relaxing break.
We loved this site! The views are so much better than the photo suggests - the sunrise and sunset were both spectacular across the rolling hills and wooded border to the site.
Access to the site is easy as long as you approach slowly. Pitches are huge and there is plenty of space for all. There were three vans on site and we still felt we were not in each others' space.
Facilities are simple and spotless. EHU is only 10Amp but this caused no problem for us, even though we had heater, water heater, kettle, microwave, lights.
We paid 15 per night for caravan, three tents alongside, EHU and family of five (all grown up).
The weather turned on our last night and we woke to a very soggy field - I knew we would struggle to get off the site, since it slopes away from the entrance. After a futile attempt to leave I telephoned the owner, who willingly dispatched a tractor to save the day. What a relief!
You could hardly wish for a better location - Leek, Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and countless picturesque villages all within half an hour's drive. The Roaches for climbing and walking, along with the Tissington Trail for a level terrain are within very easy reach.
We only really stay on CS and CL sites because they are more of a 'get away from it all' type of site. This is one of the best we've stayed at for location and views.
I recommend you go - just make sure there's still space for me!

Just had a very enjoyable couple of nights at this lovely site. This is ideal if you want to get away from it all with fantastic views across the Peak District. The owners were very pleasant and made us feel welcome. Facilities are basic as you would expect on a certified site but well maintained. This site is ideal for hill walking in this beautiful part of the country. The Manifold Inn in Hulme End is about a 20 minute walk away serves good beer and is dog friendly.

It was our first stay at this wonderful site, booked the night before and owner was very helpful. Arrived at the site without any problems, the site is located just past the farm entrance around 100 yards on the left if coming from Hartington, don't attempt to enter the farm access road.
Location is fabulous overlooking the valley and is reasonably sheltered by surrounding trees on the back of the site. Fresh water & elsan facilities are spotless, they also have recycling for your dry waste. A water tight container is provided at the water point crammed full of visitor information leaflets, which you can borrow to plan your stay and days out whilst you are there. Fresh eggs are also available to buy from the farm.
The photo of the site really doesn't do it justice, it is really a fabulous site that I fully recommend and we will be staying there again as soon as we can!

If approaching from Hulme End, the site is the next turning past the main gate for Low End Farm. If approaching from Sheen, it will be a right turn just after You leave the village.
The site is set on a flat area looking out onto amazing views of the Manifold valley and beyond. A 5 minute walk into Sheen will get you to the Staffordshire Knot pub which is quite small but very nice. 15 minutes the other direction takes you to Hulme End and the Manifold pub. Much bigger and with a great selection of beer and food.
The area has many walks and sights including Thors Cave and the Manifold Valley railway track. After my initial visit I will definetly be back. What a beautiful place !
