    Top site for walking

Explore the beautiful Peak District National Park from our Bakewell club site.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet and wonderful views and enjoy walking and cycling, Bakewell Club campsite is for you. Its idyllic location near the pretty village of Youlgreave in the Peak District National Park offers a true back to nature camping experience. Campers report that the site’s minimum facilities are part of its appeal.

Bakewell campsite enjoys a peaceful, rural setting with stunning views over the Derbyshire countryside. The attractive site is excellently maintained and its 100 pitches are spacious, some benefitting from the shelter of trees which dot the site. There’s also a small dog walk and a children's play area.

Outdoor pursuits in the area around the campsite are not in short supply. Climbing, caving, horse riding and, of course, walking and cycling, are all available. Course fishing only 1/4 mile from site.

Bakewell town is just five miles from the site – try the pudding (not tart) and then visit Haddon Hall and the National Trust’s Ilam Park and on to Dovedale, an iconic and spectacular gorge carved out by the river Dore.

While camping at Bakewell Club Site, take time to witness the ancient custom of Well Dressing – the decorating of wells and springs with pictures made from natural materials. The wells can be seen from May to September.

Please note that this site has no toilet or showers, so you will need suitable facilities in your unit.

Lovely site a short or longer walk from town centre, large spaces for pitches.

Lovely site a short or longer walk from town centre, large spaces for pitches. We found the approach fine in our T5 as did our friends towing a tourer. No toilets/showers not a problem for us as only there for a weekend. Site Managers were really friendly and helpful, we'd forgotten our chocks and as the site is (slightly) sloping in some areas we needed them, Mike the warden had some for us within minutes! I would definitely recommend this site .

Owners couldn't of been more helpful, views were unbelieveable, excellent grounds, we had no problems being without a toilet as we took a toilet tent but we were prepared for that when we booked, will be back soon as there were too many walks that we didn't do,

What a lovely site! A great welcome and fantastic location.

What a lovely site! A great welcome and fantastic location. However the access is a little hairy, steep hill with parked cars and then a single track road. We had to negotiate a parked library bus on our departure! We did get round but very close. Two other vehicles also had to reverse to allow us to pass. But all those inconveniences seemed worth it for a lovely weekend on a nice site. Having no toilets etc no problem for us as we always use our own anyway lol. I It was is ideally located for loads of places to visit, including Chatsworth House and Matlock.
