    Top site for walking

Explore the beautiful Peak District National Park from our Bakewell club site.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet and wonderful views and enjoy walking and cycling, Bakewell Club campsite is for you. Its idyllic location near the pretty village of Youlgreave in the Peak District National Park offers a true back to nature camping experience. Campers report that the site’s minimum facilities are part of its appeal.

Bakewell campsite enjoys a peaceful, rural setting with stunning views over the Derbyshire countryside. The attractive site is excellently maintained and its 100 pitches are spacious, some benefitting from the shelter of trees which dot the site. There’s also a small dog walk and a children's play area.

Outdoor pursuits in the area around the campsite are not in short supply. Climbing, caving, horse riding and, of course, walking and cycling, are all available. Course fishing only 1/4 mile from site.

Bakewell town is just five miles from the site – try the pudding (not tart) and then visit Haddon Hall and the National Trust’s Ilam Park and on to Dovedale, an iconic and spectacular gorge carved out by the river Dore.

While camping at Bakewell Club Site, take time to witness the ancient custom of Well Dressing – the decorating of wells and springs with pictures made from natural materials. The wells can be seen from May to September.

Please note that this site has no toilet or showers, so you will need suitable facilities in your unit.

We had a family get together last weekend all 23 (15 adults and 8 children) . We had a wonderful time thanks to Steve who did his upmost to accommodate members of my family pitching us as near as possible together. The children had a fantastic time with acres of well cut grass to play on in relative safety. The site is so well kept thanks to Steve and his assistant Dave.

We met up for a family get together and had a wonderful time. The site is kept clean and tidy and has a great area and spaces for children to play. Our reception was friendly and welcoming and advice was always at hand if needed. Pitches are well maintained and spacious. There are plenty of walks to access from the site and the views are spectacular. Will definitely revisit.

Beautifully kept quiet secluded site. Perfect for a cheeky weekend getaway. We've visited many times before & will visit many times in the future - just hope it doesn't get too many good reviews or they'll all want to come & that would spoil it :-)

Good position for walking and other such activities.

Good position for walking and other such activities. Close to Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth for shopping and days out. I have found the site managers and assistants very friendly and helpful. I stay at the site when attending dog shows in Bakewell and hopefully be staying there next year. It would be ideal if the same site staff were there as they make for a very pleasant stay.
