Friendly owners, great site within easy walk of two village pubs and Carsington Waters Peter met us upon arrival and as other reviewers have said, very friendly and helpful. The 6 fresh eggs from his chickens were a delicious breakfast treat. Five hardstanding (gravel) pitches well placed to give privacy better than others we have stayed on. Carsington Waters is a good 1 hour 20 minutes manageable walk away and worth a visit. There are two pubs in the village 1 mile and 1/2 mile away although we only managed to get to the Nags Head which has a great menu and the food was wonderful. W/C and shower good, warm, clean, lots of toilet roll and soap. Definitely go back and recommend.

Very welcoming. Two local pubs, general store and garage nearby.

Very welcoming. Two local pubs, general store and garage nearby. Managed to book late for a New Year stay. The farm is easy to access. Despite horrendous weather the hardstandings were still free from flooding and mud. Ashbourne is a 10 minute drive and Carsington Water is only 2.5 miles away. The views are stunning: the CL is on a ridge so anticipate windy conditions.

What a great little site.

This review is for Poplars Farm

What a great little site. We have just stayed for 4 nights and peter and Sara made us feel so welcome. Just returned from a four night stay at this great little site. As previous comments basic facilities but spotless. There are two toilets and one shower in a porter cabin. Plenty of hot water in shower and Hand basins. Views from site are fantastic. Site is just outside of Hulland ward there are 2 great pubs the black horse just a10 minute walk, this pub is going through a full refurb and should be finished by Christmas this year, serves food but not on a Sunday night and the Nags head at top end of village, both dog friendly. There is also small shop in village at petrol station. Site is ideally placed to explore this fantastic area of the Peak District. They have had a lot of rain and site was very wet however due to hard standing this was not a issue just needed wellies when walking our dog in designated fields. Will be returning as soon as possible.
