A lovely quiet little site, nicely secluded with views over Blencathra to the west and the Pennines to the east. We use it as a Base for the lakes, but very popular as an overnighter by those off to Scotland. Wonderfully accommodating owners Liz and Craig. Penrith town close for all provisions. Supermarkets Cinema restaurants etc. Ideal for Ullswater. Site has toilet , tap, waste disposal, electric etc.and prices are very reasonable. 10/10

We stayed here for 2 separate nights on our way to and from Scotland and can't fault the site as a peaceful and secluded CS . Dog friendly with easy access to neighbouring fields and footpaths. Easy walk to lovely pub with amazing food. Clean and tidy facilities including a loo with a view. Very welcoming owners.Would definitely recommend.

Very close to the M6 but far enough away that traffic noise isn't an issue.

Very close to the M6 but far enough away that traffic noise isn't an issue. Close to Penrith, some pubs/restaurants fairly close by, 15 min from Ullswater. Approach to the site is easy, but entrance is easy to miss if your not paying attention. We weren't welcomed to the site and had to call to find out which pitch to use and again the day after to pay - we were told that there were envelopes for the money and a letterbox near the toilet, and to put it in there. The site runs on a trust basis, but sometimes it's nice to actually meet the site owner, if only for some local advice. Pitches are spacious and very well kept, as is the entire site. There's a large field that looks like it would be good for rallies. A garden shed acts as a toilet with wash basin and is in a small area that also houses drinking water, elsan point and a waste water drain - again, everything was spotless. The site has no lighting on it, which for me is a bonus, and is fairly peaceful (some Road noise and the odd train in the distance). At 12 a night Inc EHU (no extras for dogs or awnings) it is very good value for the location and facilities. We'd definitely use the site again and recommend it to anyone.
