    Top site for walking

Keswick is a two-minute walk from this site with water-based activities on Derwentwater.

Our lovely little Derwentwater Club campsite is nestled between Skiddaw and Derwentwater in the north of the Lake District and is enticingly close to the pretty market town of Keswick. In fact, pull on your walking boots and you’ll be in the centre in just minutes. It’s easy to see why Keswick is the major centre for tourism in the region with its many varied shops, restaurants and museums, not to mention the lure of water and the hills.

Our Derwentwater campsite has two distinct areas of touring pitches – The Oval and Walker Park. Both are popular for their simplicity and peaceful ambience. Facilities although basic are clean and adequate. But the location is the real appeal. The National Trust’s Crow Park and Hope Park are close to the campsite. The latter offers crazy golf and a putting course. Enjoy low level walking around Derwentwater’s shores or if you want more of a challenge Skiddaw, Helvellyn and Striding Edge and Blencathra are close by.

Head to the Keswick launch and hop on board a cruise boat for a 50 minute tour of the lake or jump off at one of the seven lakeshore jetties.

Back in Keswick the Cumberland Pencil Museum, the Keswick Brewing Company and the Theatre by the Lake are all worth visiting.

Worth Noting

Sorry, no awnings or wind breaks permitted on The Oval. Minimum booking for Club Service pitches from 20 July to 1 September and English Bank Holiday is five nights (except standard pitches), all other times three nights. Please note there are no dishwash

After a long day on the M6 due to a 25 mile tailback, I arrived very late on the site and had a very warm welcome from the Staff. They were more than glad to accomodate me on an overspill pitch. It was a lovely ending to a very long day. I will return to the site. Cannot thank the Staff enough for their help.

We had a peaceful spot in walking field.

We had a peaceful spot in walking field. The highlight was being able to get to the lake and the town without having to drive anywhere. The welcome was a warm one and although basic the facilities were kept very clean,

Our first visit to Walker Park was a very happy accident. The Keswick site was full. Walker Park will be our first choice when visiting Keswick from now on. A very peaceful site, very well run. The site "A" team very friendly and felt very welcome on arrival. Keswick is a fantastic town in a wonderful location. We had a brilliant weeks holiday. This site, the area and all other ingredients came together for us. We really had the holiday blues on the Monday we returned to work. What more can we say. We had our version of a 5 star holiday. I'm sure if the site managers could have a word upstairs to make the sun shine they would. Top marks all round. Kimbo n Lisa Parker

2 minutes walk from Keswick.....yet tucked away, making it feel secluded.

2 minutes walk from Keswick.....yet tucked away, making it feel secluded. Very relaxing and peaceful. Toilet facilities are in a portacabin.....but no different to facilities found on other sites. They were always immaculate and clean. A great place to use as a base to explore Keswick and the wider Lake District. We will definitely be back.....and wished we could have stayed longer. Children are welcome.....and ours (aged 11, 12 and 15) loved cycling into Keswick to get provisions! A wonderful site with great, friendly, helpful staff. Thank you so much.
