Ideal for tent campers and handy for Scafell Pike, Wastwater & Eskdale cycle trail.
Our Eskdale Club campsite is nestled in the beautiful Eskdale Valley in the Lake District.
The area is a paradise for walkers and so Eskdale campsite is well equipped for tent campers, backpackers and cycle campers. Motorhomes are also welcome.
Modern heated facilities include a drying room, showers, washing machine and a well-stocked shop. The campsite also has ten camping pods and a camping barn sleeping up to eight if you fancy glamping or want to camp as a group.
Boot is within walking distance of the campsite with dog-friendly pubs and a station for the seven-mile Ravenglass and Eskdale railway, which passes through the Eskdale Valley. Scafell Pike is easily accessed from the campsite, but if that is a little too ambitious more gentle walks take in Stanley Ghyll Falls and Burnmoor Tarn.
For days out go to Muncaster Castle and the World Owl Centre or enjoy the amazing mountain scenery of the Hardknott and Wrynose Pass.
Fully equipped Camping Barn - £135 per night

Eskdale is our all-time favourite camp site to which we have returned numerous times. Martyn, Sara and the team are fantastic hosts - very welcoming. The site and facilities are immaculately clean and tidy (Showers are fantastic!). Stunning location, three pubs, offering well-kept ales and good food, all within easy walking distance, great walks, dogs welcome. Not sure what else to add - I've I could live on site - I would do!
(If you're towing, do not attempt to go over Hardknott or Wrynose pass - you wont get over it, go the long way around via the west coast - still very scenic).

For us it's all about walking without having to drive again. Great access to any number of walks routes/choices irrespective of the weather and if you don't feel like cooking after a long day out there are a good choice of pubs nearby. Make use of the discounts offered locally - we were handed a leaflet upon arrival detailing as such

A nice place to spend the Bank Holiday Weekend.
We arrived quite late on the Friday night - after 8.00pm - and were still made very welcome straight away. The booking in and finding a pitch process was well organised between the staff.
Everyone who works there were friendly and approachable. Without hesitation they happily let us borrow a hook up extension cable when they realised ours wasn't long enough.
The facilities are very clean and tidy and the showers were powerful and hot.
The site is in a perfect location for fell walking and road biking. We travelled over there from Newcastle to cycle the Wryrose and Hardknott passes, which we successfully did!
We intend to return to the area later on in the year to do some fell walking and will stay at this campsite again.
There are 3 pubs within walking distance to the site to feed and water you after the day's activities and all served a good selection of local food and drink. We sampled drink at all 3 and ate at the Brook House Inn which we would recommend.
I would recommend this site to anyone who wants to get away from the busy areas like Ambleside and Keswick and experience the peace and views that the lakes can offer.
One thing that we really appreciated was not having to leave our pitch until 12.00. It was nice to have that extra hour or so to take the tent down and not have to rush off.
See you again soon!
Steve & Caroline.

“We have just stayed in the camping barn at Eskdale with two daughters and four grandchildren. It is a superb facility with virtually all the equipment you could want and plenty of electric points. The camp beds are good too. The site is lovely , and was quiet even though packed and full of families with children. The views are wonderful and the station for the steam train to the coast at Ravenglass is a ten minute walk away. The wardens at the site were extremely helpful and friendly, and the shop is very well stocked. The loo facilities seem new and are very clean. ”
