This is a lovely quiet site with stunning views towards the top of the Yorkshire dales.

This review is for Bowfield Farm

This is a lovely quiet site with stunning views towards the top of the Yorkshire dales. We first stayed here last summer and decided to return to sample the peace and quiet. Barnard castle is a lovely market town only a few minutes drive away and about half an hours drive away is the beautiful dales village of Reeth. This is really worth a visit with plenty of charming shops selling local goods. A similar distance is the tan hill inn which is the highest pub in Britain and has fantastic views over three counties. The campsite owner mark is friendly and helpful and we will be back in the future

Best site CS we've stayed on yet. Beautiful location. Friendly welcome. Large flat field with swings in corner. Working farm with calves. Very friendly pony and owners! 2 showers incl toilet and 2 toilets. Good large rooms with mirrors. One with baby changing. No coins needed for showers, good pressure and hot water. Washing up room with hot water, kettle, microwave and freezer. Location outstanding. Plenty of walks from site or 15 min drive to High Force Waterfall, Barnard Castle, Moors. Will definitely return.

We stayed two nights and enjoyed every minute.

This review is for Bowfield Farm

We stayed two nights and enjoyed every minute. The welcome was friendly and the staff informative. When we asked about walking to Barnard Castle the male member of staff was spot on with his description. There are too few showers (5 in each ) and very weak, but the blocks are well kept and clean. The plots are beautifully maintained and the play area very safe. Just a short (2 miles) walk into a very interesting town. make sure you pick up a town walk map - free. One downside was when the fish and chip van came to the campsite and we waited an hour to be served. This wasn't so bad until one of the campsite staff walked up and queue jumped. Annoying. High Force waterfall, 12 miles away is well worth a visit
