Beautiful area, quiet countryside location, friendly and helpful staff, great walking...

This review is for Barnard Castle

Beautiful area, quiet countryside location, friendly and helpful staff, great walking welcoming locals and attractions. Will certainly visit again. Only downside is more general in that we have become addicted to small CLs and unenamoured of beautifully kept but less characterful grassy parks with units lined up in neat ranks.

We received a warm welcome to a lovely campsite.

This review is for Barnard Castle

We received a warm welcome to a lovely campsite. The site was maintained to a very high standard and all the pitches were flat. There were plenty of water points, and a large clean toilet/shower block. It has to be the cleanest toilet block on any of the campsites we have visited!

However after that it was all good; the site wardens were so helpful.

However after that it was all good; the site wardens were so helpful. He took me to a great pitch surrounded by hedges and close by the facilities. Fresh clean hot soapy water in the mop bucket before 7am in the immaculate facility blocks. A great walk into Barnard Castle from the site. You do need to be fit. Fish and chips at 149 Barnard Castle are a must, in the little cafe or take away. A very smart, historic market town.

Andrew and Patricia are very friendly and you're guaranteed a warm welcome. They're very helpful and there if you need them. The site is fantastic, so much so we're writing this review after our second visit. The facilities are fantastic and very clean. Plenty of water points and waste water disposal points. The site is very clean and well laid out, not to mention very peaceful. We will definitely return.
