Ideal site for exploring Teesdale & the Yorkshire Dales and outdoor pusuits.

If you’re looking for peace and tranquillity, a rural location with plenty of walking and cycling opportunities our Barnard Castle Club campsite is for you.

Located on the north eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, handy for the attractions of Teesdale and within walking distance of Barnard Castle or Barney as it is known locally, the tree-lined campsite is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

This pretty tree-lined campsite has 90 pitches. The camping field is level and has a well placed modern facilities block offering showers/toilets, a laundry, disabled facilities, a parent and child room and a dish washing area.

There are plenty of walks direct from the site and an excellent dog walk for those who don’t want to venture too far. Children are catered for with a play area and the visiting fish and chip van comes highly recommended.

There’s fishing at Balderhead and Hury reservoirs to the west of the site.

For days out visit the Bowes Museum, Bolton Castle, the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre, the Dales Countryside Museum and England’s highest unbroken waterfall, High Force.

Pleasant site, probably more suited to caravanners though unless you don't mind using your van...

Pleasant site, probably more suited to caravanners though unless you don't mind using your van to get about. Longish walk into Barney. Special mention to Andrew for being so helpful, we noticed we had a slow puncture and he went out of his way to to locate an inflator (thanks to a fellow camper) and fixed it.

3 night stay end of September 2013. First time on this site and would revisit again. Loved site and location, plenty to do in surrounding areas. Great visit to Beamish Museum, good day out if you have children but as an older couple we thoroughly enjoyed it. Plenty of other attractions within easy distance.
