Tregurrian is a great for watersports & people looking for a seaside holiday.

Camp at our Tregurrian Club campsite and you’ll be spoilt for choice of beaches to visit. There are fourteen close to our stunning campsite in the North Cornwall, located just north of the popular seaside town of Newquay.

Watergate Bay is the closest and is a short walk from the campsite along the South West Coastal Path. This two-mile stretch of golden sand is popular with families. The Atlantic swell here also makes it equally appealing to watersport lovers. The beach hosts annual surfing events too.

Surfers will also be drawn to Newquay for Fistral Beach which also hosts a number of events through the summer including surf championships, a fun dog show and the popular Boardmasters event which includes skate and BMX competitions, live music and competitive surfing. Other attractions of the town include Newquay Zoo, and the Lappa Valley Steam Railway and you could spot seals and dolphins in the harbour.

Our pretty Tregurrian campsite offers 90 level pitches. The well thought out site has immaculate faciliites including a handy wetsuit shower.

A few miles up the coast Padstow has some excellent restaurants, including one owned by celebrity chef Rick Stein while Watergate Bay is home to Jamie Oliver’s 15 Cornwall Restaurant.

We found the site peaceful and ideally situated for coastal walks and trips to beaches.

We found the site peaceful and ideally situated for coastal walks and trips to beaches. The staff were friendly and worked hard to maintain the site to a good standard. The weather during our stay was mixed - sun/cloud & showers. There was always a strong breeze and the wind could be very strong at times making cooking outdoors & sleeping under canvas challenging . During our stay there was a lot of noise (both day and night) from Watergate Bay - the annual Boardmasters 3 night music festival. It would have been helpful to have known about the festival dates from the website at the time of booking. In addition to the noise nuisance, there were also a number of road closures locally. That said we made the best of our stay and enjoyed some lovely meals at local pubs & restaurants. Newquay itself was very busy and uninspiring, more suited to hen & stag weekends. It had a good range of supermarkets and a well stocked camping supplies shop. We particularly enjoyed trips to more scenic areas such as Mawgen Porth, Lusty Glaze Beach, Padstow and the Eden Project. In our opinion, the site's toilet and shower facilities in our busy field were inadequate - just 2 showers, 2 basins in cubicles, a small handwash basin plus 2 toilet cubicles. There were frequent queues and there appeared to be a problem with the sewerage - often blocked toilets and unpleaseant smells/whiffs in & around the block. It is for this reason that we would be unlikely to return or recommend this site to others.

With so much to do in the area, regardless of the weather we are sure to carry on visiting time & time again. This site is the perfect base whether you want a peaceful break or something fun to do each day. Angi & Paul couldn't be more welcoming and helpful, they really do bend over backwards to make the site what it is. The best site I have ever stayed on by far!! Thank you xxx

This is our third visit and there will be more.

This is our third visit and there will be more. The wardens are two of the nicest and most helpfull we have come across of all the sites we have stayed at. The site is on a main bus route and buses are very frequent, even on Sunday. The walks along the cliff paths are great with good views on all sides. Also an aircraft museum is within walking distance, which is well worth a visit.

This really did tick all our boxes apart from one.

This really did tick all our boxes apart from one. The site itself is in a lovely location close to Watergate bay and all the Newquay and surrounding area has to offer.Even though we managed to overstay by one night Angela was very understanding and accommodating (even though the site was full). The only slight improvement I could ask for was a children's play area. I think an important part of the camping experience for kids is to be given a little more freedom than they are used to at home and a space to do it in. But this slight down side was far outweighed by all the positives. Clean, accessible facilities(I never queued once for a shower in 12 days, although the ladies did have the odd bottleneck at certain times). Friendly management, and fantastic weather. we really could not have asked for much more. We will be back.
