I found the ladies very friendly & welcoming.

This review is for Fays Touring Park

I found the ladies very friendly & welcoming. They showed me to my pitch & where everything was. Clean facilities but quite limited. When I arrived I was greeted with a very warm welcome from them both. They showed me to my pitch, where the facilities were and where the rubbish goes. I'd barely finished setting up before my neighbour had put a complaint in to the owners about how I'd parked. They reckoned it was invasive. After being told to move the position of my van by the owners, I could then see into my neighbours caravan and they ended up putting the blinds down for the rest of the day. Whereas the way I was parked before wasn't invasive at all. If they'd have let me finish setting up they'd have seen this. Hey-ho. So long as the longer staying party is happy, right? I found the facilities as strange set up. There is only a shared toilet and showeroom which is only open from 7am-7:30pm. Thankfully the owners kept it open during the night for the 2 nights I was there. I think they should mention this on their site as not everyone is self contained and usually when a park advertises they have facilities, they generally don't have opening times. On my day of departure, I felt I was being watched as I was packing up. They even came over just before 10am and to have a chat and to see how I was getting on packing away. Admittedly, I had overslept as I didn't set an alarm to get up. I had felt rough all the previous day due to sleeping with my head lower than my feet because of the position they had me move my van to. So I wasn't off the site until 10:20am and they certainly let me know about it and even reminded me the night before. Overall, the campsite is clean and tidy. Plenty of room on each pitch. You have you own water tap, there is a grey water disposal point, waste bin and recycling too. The pitches look well maintained and was set in quite a peaceful location with easy access to towns close by.

We had a warm welcome.

This review is for Fays Touring Park

We had a warm welcome.only one toilet and shower combined which ment if someone was showering toilet was not availible notice on door closed between 7.30 pm till 7 am not good if you do not have a toilet on board time should be put on website. Area very quiet. This was our first experience in a campervan which was marred by the fact that on the day of leaving we could not get into the facilities as they were being used packed up and ready to leave the site for 10 am as required and NO LATER My traveling partner went once again down to use the toilet at 09.45 to be greeted by the owners and told "You do realise you have to be gone by 10 am .She explained that she couldn't use the facilities as they were being used only to be told that she had had plenty of time to use them and that they do not have to provide them!!! Being very upset my friend did not get to use the toilet. We left the site by the required time. I do feel that I was almost frog marched of the site as was a lady who was camping next to us the day before having the owners hoovering around you telling you it's time to leave.Luckly we found a service station where my friend could use the toilet.i feel this is unacceptable. I will not be returning to this site not would I recommend it to anyone.

Site was very well kept, clean facilities, and a pleasure to return to after a day out.

This review is for Fays Touring Park

Site was very well kept, clean facilities, and a pleasure to return to after a day out. Fay and Janet are very nice and welcome you to the site almost like family. The facilities are kept clean, and the site is very tidy, and well maintained by the two ladies. A couple of pubs within walking distance, but not too far from town either. There is a bus stop just up the road, if you dont want to drive out. A very pleasant stay was had. Hope to come back.
