Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

Why not come and see why we choose Ivyleaf Cottage as our downshifting dream destination and take some time to recharge your batteries whilst learning more about how to do it sustainably? Ivyleaf Cottage Holidays occupies a secluded rural location only three miles from Bude town, dog friendly beaches and the sea pool. Our site has a tiered setting of approx 2.5 acres overlooking the valley and coast. Pitches are interspersed with hedges and trees to enhance guest’s privacy. Our site is regularly visited by abundant wildlife which is much enjoyed especially by our younger guests, including hawks, owls, pheasants, woodpeckers, rabbits and deer. We encourage and promote low impact living and look to embrace nature and our natural resources through our approach. Rain water harvesting, biomass heating, solar power generation, composting toilets and recycling are things we are passionate about and look to promote though our onsite activities program and facilities. We don’t have an onsite shop, bar, club or nightly entertainment but we can offer a warm fire around which you can make new friends, listen to the owls ushering in the dusk and enjoy a class or two of fine Cornish cider or even wine these days!

Brilliant peaceful site, where you are created and treated by very friendly helpful management. My family enjoyed. We couldn't fault this site and the management truly helpful and wonderful a must if your looking for a peaceful site to stay at. Five minute drive to Bude centre and the Swimming pool, activity centre great for the kids. The site was kept clean at all times, the shower and toilet block was spotless at all times, my boy enjoyed the play area caravan a converted caravan for kids to play in. We enjoyed the views over looking the valleys leading out to the sea. All in all a lovely site run by lovely people. We enjoyed our stay so much so that we are planning our next stay there ??

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite.

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The owners were really helpful and even helped us put up our awning. The showers were excellent and I was pleasantly surprised by the composting toilets. The campsite felt secluded due to its setting but was also close to Bude. We are already planning our next stay at Ivyleaf.

A very warm welcome (even for Milly the daft Mutt) from Stuart, Jackie, Colin &Toots.

A very warm welcome (even for Milly the daft Mutt) from Stuart, Jackie, Colin &Toots. Such friendly people & a lovely clean site. Perfect!! A lovely week in a lovely part of the world. Stuart & Jackie couldn't do enough for us. They have worked very hard (and succeeded) at creating a peaceful place to spend a few days relaxing or use as a base to go around the many sights in the area. The Children (and Milly) loved seeing Stuart and appreciated the 'play caravan' for when the weather wasn't on our side. We would definitely return. Thanks again guys.

Stuart and Jacqui were the friendliest campsite owners that we have ever met.

Stuart and Jacqui were the friendliest campsite owners that we have ever met. A lovely clean, well maintained, quiet site - we'll be back! We had a fantastic time at Ivyleaf, which started by being greeted by a cuppa and squash for the girls. We had a lovely pitch, enclosed by bushes and trees so very private - we couldn't believe it was all ours it was so big! Stuart and Jacqui constantly made sure that everything was okay, and lent us their BBQ one evening. We were given a pack of leaflets with different things to do. There is a caravan for the children to play in, with lots of outside games too - very good for the children. The showers were great, better than our one at home! I'd recommend the cream tea at the Rustic Tea Rooms at Northcott Mouth and Branston (dog) would recommend the beach! The only local beaches you can't take dogs on are Crooklets and Widemouth (although they can go on Black Rock) and they are allowed on Summerleaze on a lead. Morrisons is only a 5 minute drive away for all your food needs, with a petrol station too. We didn't really go anywhere as we used to live in Cornwall so we spent most of our time catching up with friends and at the beach with Branston, as it was his first holiday. We had friends visit us on site and they all commented on how lovely and friendly it was. We would all definitely recommend Ivyleaf if you want a relaxing time on a very friendly site, Stuart even arranged for the sun to be shining that I had requested!! We'll be booking to go back again next year, will be lovely to see our wonderful hosts again. Thanks for everything Stuart and Jacqui xx
