Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

Why not come and see why we choose Ivyleaf Cottage as our downshifting dream destination and take some time to recharge your batteries whilst learning more about how to do it sustainably? Ivyleaf Cottage Holidays occupies a secluded rural location only three miles from Bude town, dog friendly beaches and the sea pool. Our site has a tiered setting of approx 2.5 acres overlooking the valley and coast. Pitches are interspersed with hedges and trees to enhance guest’s privacy. Our site is regularly visited by abundant wildlife which is much enjoyed especially by our younger guests, including hawks, owls, pheasants, woodpeckers, rabbits and deer. We encourage and promote low impact living and look to embrace nature and our natural resources through our approach. Rain water harvesting, biomass heating, solar power generation, composting toilets and recycling are things we are passionate about and look to promote though our onsite activities program and facilities. We don’t have an onsite shop, bar, club or nightly entertainment but we can offer a warm fire around which you can make new friends, listen to the owls ushering in the dusk and enjoy a class or two of fine Cornish cider or even wine these days!

We were certainly in luck when we found this site within good access of Bude. From the start Stuart and Jackie (and Mum & Dad) could not have been more friendly and helpful. They went beyond the call of duty. We were served a cream tea; enjoyed hot chocolate and marshmallows around a campfire and given lifts to town and back. They will definitely succeed in this new venture given their enthusiasm. There is a good choice of pitches giving different shade and views. There is also a splendid self catering cottage for those less adventurous. The eco toilet and shower facilities are impressive. We definitely intend to return.

We have just arrived back from spending seven nights at Ivyleaf Cottage. We were meant to go for eleven nights but due to a family crisis we were unable to go until the Friday. Having telephoned to advised of change of plans Stuart was very good and accommodating. we finally arrived at 8 o.clock and was met by a very friendly couple with a very welcome cup of tea. We were shown up to the field by Stuart and left to pitch (in the dark). The next morning we felt it was a little to much on the slope so we moved. Poor Stuart thought he had too much to drinkas the tent was not in the same place as the night before. The site is quite with clean toilets and showers for use on the site. Every day Stuart or Jackie would call to see it we were ok. On the Thursday Stuart inviting ourselves and the other guest for a sandwich lunch. However, upon arrival we found that it was a full scale bbq with a lovely blackberry and apple crumble that's to Stuart mum. We left on the Friday as there was severe winds due and as we were high up felt it was better to leave. Conclusion: Very friendly hosts, clean site. Would we go back YES Thank you Stuart and Jackie for having us look forward to seeing again
