With an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Children’s play area
Bathing and surfing beaches within easy reach

The surrounding area

You’ll find some of north Cornwall’s best bathing and surfing beaches within easy reach of our Bude Club campsite. The campsite boasts a prime location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. Bude lies nine miles to the north, while south are Tintagel and Camelford.

There’s a pleasant walk to Crackington Haven over fields and stiles from site where you’ll find a sandy beach and an abundance of rock pools. The nearby fishing port of Boscastle is worth visiting. Learn about the legend of King Arthur in Tintagel, enjoy a cliff top walk to the castle ruins and Merlin’s Cave. Just south of Tintagel Trebarwith Strand is a popular surfing beach and dog-friendly. Port Isaac, made famous by TV’s Doc Martin and Boscastle, a delightful fishing port with white washed cottages, steep narrow streets and alleyways, should not be missed.

North of Bude campsite, Widemouth Bay and Blackrock Sands is fabulous for surfing and sunbathing.

Good pub nearby, not far from Bude.

This review is for Bude

Good pub nearby, not far from Bude. Only drawback, it can be very windy there but probably no different to anywhere else. With two dogs, we had lovely walks along the Bude canal, and in particular the Upper Tamar Lake (3 mile walk round the lake). We were very satisfied with everything else and will be going back.

We were met by friendly staff and taken to a recommended pitch for our tent.

We were met by friendly staff and taken to a recommended pitch for our tent. We had coastal and countryside views and were a convenient distance from the shower block. The site also has a games room where you can play table tennis, billiards or watch TV. There is a very good pub half a mile from the site which sells great ales and serves good pub grub. They will even do a take away service for you. Within a couple of miles going back towards Bude we found the Rebel Cinema which was great for a rainy day. The site was sandwiched between Crackington Haven and Boscastle. Tintagel and Port Isaac were also within easy reach. Overall a very pleasant stay. Finally, thank you to the new owners who gave us such a warm welcome and farewell!

This is a very nice site, clean and well tended and the staff are friendly and helpful.

This is a very nice site, clean and well tended and the staff are friendly and helpful. The site would benefit from a proper drive over grey waste disposal point, but its not real hardship to use a pipe. It's not really possible to walk off the site as it's on the main A39 with no real footpaths to anywhere, so you'll need transport to get anywhere. Having said that, it's central for many place, Boscastle and Tintagel are definitely worth a visit as are many of the smaller coves and the walking is great. Sunset at the site can be stunning, so be sure to get your pitch as close to the lower edge as possible !

Site advertised that they now have a designated dog walking area.

Site advertised that they now have a designated dog walking area. This turned out to be no more than a narrow strip of grass at edge of site which was fenced off but open at each end. We couldn' t use it on our visit with 3 dogs as it was too slippery and nowhere near long enough.
